I have a 94 ford explorer. I was driving down the road and all of a sudden heard a whistling noise. I smelled a burning smell, but the engine wasn't anywhere near hot. And then i turned the heat off. It had been on low. The whistling stopped about 10 seconds later. I turned the heat back on and smoke poured into the vehicle from the vents. What is wrong with it?
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with the PATS system. I recently had my service engine soon light come on and the code was for the PATS system. I believe there has been something wrong with it for a while, because my key fob and power door locks have never worked when the car is off, and my remote start recently stopped working. I believe these are all related to the PATS system. So, how much could it cost to replace the whole system? Or, if anybody knows, what exactly is wrong? My key still works, car runs fine, and the theft light blinks at a normal pace.

So the fuel pump on my car is going bad and a new one from a decent company is going to cost at least 150 plus for just the pump. I don't want to pay that much for a pump that's going in a 23 year old car so my question is, can I just use any pump that runs at the correct psi and flow rate? The car itself needs a minimum 45 psi and a flow rate of 45 gph. I work at autozone and I recently sold a lady a fuel pump for her 2006 ford explorer and it only cost her around 60 bucks for a new airtex pump and it's not fair. If anyone can recommend a 12v fuel pump that runs at minimum 45psi 45gph I'd really appreciate it.
