What would be a good first car for a teen driver?

I'm 17 and I'm getting my permit next week. I have looked nearby me and found several cars that fit within my price range but I'm unsure which one I should get. They are all $1000 and under. Some of them have cosmetic issues but they don't have anything mechanically wrong listed about them.

I don't need anything fancy, just something to learn in and get used to driving with. The choices are: 2000 Hyundai Elantra with 168k miles, 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis with 170k miles, 2004 Dodge Neon with 198k miles, 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 200k miles, 2001 Nissan Maxima with 184k miles, 2003 Hyundai Sonata with 180k miles, and a 2002 Ford Explorer with 200k miles.

Are any of these good deals or should I keep looking? Any suggestions for a teen first car?

Welding on a 1996 ford explorer axle?

I'm needing to relocate the shock mounts and leaf spring perches on a 1996 ford explorer axle. Can I simply weld them back on in a different spot, or do I need to preheat the surface before welding? What material is the axle tube made out of? It appears to be just steal, but I know the pot is cast. Anyways, i just needing someone's opinion before I started welding.

Does this sound like a bad/worn CV axle shaft?

I took my vehicle into a front end shop because I was having bad vibrations in my front end, and in my steering wheel. A little bit in the gas pedal as well. The shop said I had a bad front differential, and a bad driver side axle shaft. I do know that I don't have any symptoms of a bad front differential. No noises whatsoever. All I have is a vibration in the front end, and in the steering wheel. I have had my tires balanced, and had an alignment here recently. Not the issue! Again there are no noises whatsoever like a howl, roar.etc There does feel like a little bit of scraping/grinding as I'm pushing on the gas pedal though. If I do indeed have a bad driver side CV axle shaft, there isn't any clicking noises when I make turns, or go around curves. I just don't think it's my CV axle shaft because all I have is a vibration & lite scraping. I could be wrong though!

2000 Ford Explorer 5.0 AWD/V8

Anyone with a 2013 Ford Explorer that has 3 car seats in it? Best arrangement?

I purchased a Ford Explorer before I was expecting my third child so I didn't even think about car seats being different width sizes. I have a 3 year old who is forward facing, a 2 year old who is rear facing and now have the infant car seat for my baby due in 4 days in the middle all 3 In the second row. For those who have tried 3 car seats in this vehicle what works best? I can tell that having all 3 seats in second row is gonna be a struggle since it's super tight and I have to wiggle the infant seat to get it to click in the middle. I tried the 3 seats several ways all in second row and the two older kids by doors and infant in middle is only way it would fit. I'm torn because a piece of me wants to just put my 3 year old in the third row to avoid the huge hassle of struggling to get infant in middle everytime. Problem is if I put my 3 year old in 3rd row he will be far from DVD played in headrests in 2nd row, and it will take my stroller and grocery space.
