My Ford explorer s (2012 limited) enhanced park aids(or the guidelines yellow, green, red) is not showing up when i'm reversing. But my enhanced park aids is ON. Does anyone know how to fix this or something to get it back with out going to fors dealer first?
I have a pretty good vibration only in the front of my vehicle. Tires have been balanced, alignment done.etc No audible noises such as clunks, roars, howling.etc at all. Only vibration/shudder. I ask is a wobbling harmonic balancer normal because I know if they go bad they can cause the engine to vibrate pretty roughly. Also harmonic balancers are overlooked when mechanics go to diagnose the reason for a vibration. I happen to catch this myself while I was laying under my vehicle with a flash light. The pulley in front of the HB is not wobbling, just the HB part is wobbling. 2000 Ford Explorer AWD 5.0 V8
Added (1). Okay, so I had the harmonic balancer replaced, and it took a lot of the vibrations away, but there's still a vibration present that shouldn't be there. I put my hand on the engine while it was running/idling and the engine steady vibrates. I'm going to replace the CV axle shaft that was in question soon. I just find it odd that after the HB was replaced most of it went away. Now between 50/60 mph there's a constant shudder. And like I said there's still a vibration @ 30-45 mph.
Added (2). Also the vibration is going through the whole vehicle, because when I'm sitting in it my passenger seat vibrates, and I also walked to the back of the vehicle, and I can feel it back there as well. Guess this is going to be a guessing game! After CV, I will do the u-joints I guess. No mechanic has found it yet.
I might buy a 1993 Ford Explorer that's been sitting for 9 years and the head gasket was no good that's why it's not being used but I can buy it for $200 what do I have to do to get it running other then the head gasket and do you think it's worth it?
How do I check the automatic transmission fluid on my 1995 Ford Explorer? - 1
My 2001 Sport Trac had major engine repairs two months ago, during which all the timing chains, valve springs and valve lifters were replaced. It has run well since then (at least 1000 miles or more).
Now the vehicle is running rough and near-stalling, especially at low speeds. The check engine light is on with codes P0340 and P1309 (pending).
Is it likely that the new problems are related to the recent repairs?
Added (1). The original shop is in a different state, so there's no possibility of taking it back.
I'm not really concerned with assigning blame to the original mechanic; just ensuring that the work that he performed won't have to be redone. If the problem is most likely the camshaft position sensor or wiring, I can deal with it. However, if a timing chain failure is causing the problem, that's a bigger issue. So the real question is, could the new problems be caused by a timing chain malfunction?
