I'm looking at cars in the $3000 - $4500 range and I'm noticing a decent amount of Ford Taurus's and Focus's and out of all the cars that I see, these are two cars that just seem so unreliable. I test drove a Focus last year and it sounded like something was wrong with the engine.
My dad is perfectly okay with his 1992 Ford Taurus with 210,000 miles on it, no heat (he lives in Chicago btw), no A/C, and a f::::ked up passenger side door.
He's not poor by any means, he's a CFO of a bank. He just says that driving that P. Builds character and he only cares about having a car that can take him from point A to point B.
It's a stock 93 Ford Taurus radio, only am fm and cassette, cassettes work but I don't want to use. How can I get my radio to work again? My antennae was loose but I tightened it but it still won't work!

I have a 2001 ford taurus and last time I put some of the air conditioning suppliments in the car it lasted about 5 minutes so I think theirs a leak in a tube or something I don't know much about cars but want to get started so I can get a car fixing career going on and this will be my first project. So what do you guys think I should do is it a leak and if it is what should I replace?

Added (1). I have a 2005 ford five hundred with a bad throttle body. Would a throttle body from another vehicle(older taurus, etc) with a duratec 30 be plug and play as long as it's the same engine layout?
Ok so I have a 2007 ford taurus se and last afternoon I tried to start my car and no lights came on and neither did the.engine. So I took the battery to get tested and it was working great. I then took the starter to also get tested and It was working perfectly fine. After putting everything back on the car it seems to be running fine. It's also worth mentioning I got broken into last week and got the ignition replaced but when I turn the car off the radio would stay on? Maybe this has something to do with it. I'd really like to fix whatevers wrong before my car ***** up again. Any suggestion helps.
A mechanic recommended getting my rear struts done because one of them is shot and leaking oil. Said each strut would cost $180.
I found a pair of complete strut assemblies on a website, brand-new, for sale for $140 total. Completestruts.com.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES, and a mechanic at MIDAS told me the battery is 50 cranking amps or 50 something less than what the car should have. It's not that the battery is old and low, its a battery a bit smaller than what should be in the car. It was put in by the previous owner. Anyway, I have a JVC aftermarket radio installed, an ORION 1000W amp, and 2 12" Kenwood Subwoofers in the trunk, would it be safe to ever run the radio without the car running? Or would it put way to much strain on the battery/alternator?
