My radio won't stop scanning, doesn't stop on any station, why?

It's a stock 93 Ford Taurus radio, only am fm and cassette, cassettes work but I don't want to use. How can I get my radio to work again? My antennae was loose but I tightened it but it still won't work!

Manually tune it to a station you know is strong in your area. If it doesn't play that station it seems your antenna is not properly connected to the radio. I suspect a broken cable.

On many radios they will continue scanning until the scan button is pressed a second time. If it is not stopping at the second push, either the start/stop switch contact is dirty and needs to be cleaned or it is broken. It would not be economical to try and fix it so replacing the radio wirh a new one would be your best option.
