I need some legal advice! Please?

Hey guys so I have a family friend that use to repair my car on the side. He is a mechanic, but does not work for a company anymore; he just did work on the side for people. I trusted him a lot, I use to give him money to pick up parts without a problem. Everything we have ever talked about is through text. I have every single text message since the first day he started working on my car. Recently he told me my Ford Taurus needed a new motor and it would cost about $550. He came and picked up the money and said he would get the motor the next day. However I noticed he came up with little excuses on why he hasn't gotten the motor. And sooner or later it came to him ignoring me. I called him, texted him, everything and I haven't heard back from him. I gave him the $550 THREE MONTHS AGO. I have recently messaged his girlfriend and he would change the story to make it look like he was trying to do the right thing. I'm completely convinced that he took my money and does not plan on returning it. I don't know how to go forward with the courts on this problem. $550 may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but it's a lot to me. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and have a two year old. I soon will be going on maternity leave without pay. And I'm at such a lose on what to do😭. Someone please help.

Is my car donation still tax deductible if it has no fair market value due to the car s poor condition?

My car (a 1993 Ford Taurus station wagon) was declared as junk late last year after its front cross-member frame rotted away and that part can't be replaced. Because of that, the car is hopeless and can't be driven. I checked Kelly Blue Book s website and it stated there's no value in that car in poor condition. I donated the car to Kars4Kids and have the official receipt. Is this car donation still tax deductible, and I can declare a value, or do I just do my federal and state taxes and leave out this donation?

1997 Ford Taurus SHO misfire/horrible sputtering acceleration. NO ENGINE CODE?

I just recently purchased a 97 SHO taurus (3.4L 32v V8) and i have a misfire issue i'm trying to weed out. The engine has 149k miles and presumably stock plugs and coils at least on the rear as they are a day job to get to. I'm going to try and explain this as best as possible as its a weird issue. SO, turn the key and the car starts right up, at idle you can hear and slightly 1-3 mis-fires a second. This does not vary and will stay constant. The rpm needle does not seem to react to misfire (NOTE: not at any point since owning the car have a i gotten any check engine lights!) Now i put the car in R to back out of driveway. Throttle responds great, car shifts smoothly. Now i put in D and start moving down the street, now the problem presents itself. I simply can't go past 1/4 throttle without horrible misfires kicking in. I can't accelerate fast at all as i have to feather the throttle to maintain power. Now clearly the 1st step is to replace the plugs and coils which i have coming in in the mail (as well as UIM and valve cover gaskets) but since i have to tear alot apart to get to the rear plugs anyways, i was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to what i'm dealing with and can tell me other things i should be looking for while the engine is semi-apart. (valves etc.) I only ask because i'm not getting an engine code which makes part of me believe its deeper than just a tune-up. I'm also only 21 years old! ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING APPRECIATED! 1997 Ford Taurus SHO misfire horrible sputtering acceleration. NO ENGINE CODE

2003 Ford Taurus SES heat not working correctly?

The thermostat will be up to temp where it should be reading on my dash, I also have plenty of antifreeze in and I'm almost positive that wouldn't be my problem…

When I turn the the heat on I will get decently hot air blow out for a few seconds and then it'll immediately turn to cold air… What do you guys think?
Hopefully it's a fuse I'm thinking
