Changed key switch because it was broken. Now purchased a new one put it in place now seems like there isn't any fire getting to the motor? Nothing will come on except interior lights radio. Headlights will come on bright battery seems good. But when turn over now there's a click but no fire?
I put the key in the ignition turn it over and nothing no noise nothing… Key acts like there isn't any guts in the steering panel… The key turns freely no resistance. Changed the ignition switch no different check battery, head lights shine bright. Also after the first turn over the interior lights come on and radio… We unplugged the battery is the only way to make the lights and fan in motor to stop. What could this be?
I have a 1987 ford ranger v6 2.9. When I start up my truck cold start it will take 3-4 try's to get it going steady. Unless I slowly rev the engine after I first start it, but I try not doing that. Even when I do the instant I take my foot off the throttle the engine will almost stop turning, until I slightly rev the engine again. Without revs and letting it do its thing, I'll need to start it up 4 times at least to get the idol to normal. Has oil, spark plugs are good, wires still soft, fuel filter changed last oil change, air filter recently changed, clutch seems good still. Haven't had any issues with the clutch or drivetrain so far at least. Also, if you are familiar with this truck, any advice on things to do before they get bad? You know, like specifically for this year and model truck? I heard this year and model ranger needed some upgrades or something.

So my engine has been working fine, i have a oil leak that can be maintained by stoppers and more oil, but now my engine sounds "weak" and makes a high pitched whirring noise. The engine is also sounding a bit eradicate. Kinda relatable to a heart defect or something. This happened so suddenly without much warning.
I have a 98 Ford Ranger with a remade V4 engine in it.
I know nothing about cars and hope someone can help me at least a little, and maybe tell me what it might cost if you know the possible problem.

Added (1). Stoppers. They are thicker oil or something to help stop leaks.
Added (2). And also, by remade engine, i meant refurbished. I just couldn't remember the word for it earlier.
I drove my 2000 ford ranger, parked it and did some errands. I came back put the key in and tried to start it. The theft light on dash blinking real fast. Truck has power but won't turn over. I turn the key and nothing. How do i reset the anti theft?
Engine dies and services light comes on, wait a few minutes and runs again
So I bought a new stereo and wanted to save some money and install it myself. Boy did I jump in over my head. I got the old one out, I connected the adapter. Striped the wires and connected it with the adapter. Went to plug it in and it dosent work. I measured the energy from the ground wire and the red ( power ) wire it's all good. But the new stereo won't turn on. So I thought faulty system so I got a new one same problem. I disassembled all of it and went to put the factory back in for alittle while and the factory won't work either. I've worked on it for many hours today. Gonna go back out and try again tommorrw. Any suggestions please thanks btw I made sure all the wires are connected to the same wire
