Which car would you recommend?
I need something to drive to school and I would like to get a truck, preferable the 2.2L 4cylinder 2wd so I can get some decent mpg, what do you busy think?
Or should I spend $10,000 on a car rather than an older truck that costs 3,000?
I'm 5'7" and looking at a 1990 Ford Ranger. I have not yet seen it in person but since there are bench seats do you think I ll sit comfortable and reach the clutch fine etc?
I have a 1999 3.0 v6 automatic ranger. It does not go in to reverse or drive you have to put It into drive 2 and then when you get up to around 20 mph you can put it into normal drive and it works fine. Can I rebuild it. What kind of rebuild kit do I need. How much do you Think it'll cost. What kind of trans do I have. And what other kind of trans will fit in this truck. If I can't rebuild it
I have a 2000 ford ranger 4.0 motor. I've changed the MAF sensor, put fuel injector cleaner in it, and replaced the fuel pump. When the truck sits for awhile this pain runs rough for about 30 seconds. I did not find any air leaks or a crack in any air line. The only info I can tell you is there's a chirp between the motor and transmission. Also that when you disconnect a spark plug wire from the coil pack and set it off to the side sparks are still shooting out from the coil pack. Only in that one spot though so it's magically finding a ground outside of the coil pack. This truck is supposed to have the 3.0 and has a super chip. I'm just trying to find out why it runs so rough at a cold start
2002 ford ranger the check eng. Light came on the trans only want to frist gear only?
Just recently I started to notice my truck would make a terrible grinding sound when I turn over the key. After it turns on it runs perfectly fine. I haven't noticed anything else but that. I don't know what the problem could be.
Hi. I'm wanting to get a truck but am unsure what kind to get. It has to 4wd, stick shift, good in winter, good for hunting any game, and able to haul my 2 dirt bikes.
I'm think of Ford, Chevy, and Toyota. The problem though is it has to be able to get 17 or better mpg. All are early 90's.
So, what is the mpg of:
1) f150 with 302 5speed
2) chevy 1500 350 5speed
3) Ford ranger 5speed
4) toyota 22re 4speed
I will also note that I don't hotrod my cars and travel at the average speed of 60.
I'm 16 and looking for my first truck. I only want spend about $1500. The truck has to have a good 4wd, manual transmission, and it needs to get at least 18 mpg. I'm wanting american made. Not sure if I should get a Dakota, Ranger, or s10 around the years of 1988-1992. It needs to be reliable as well because I drive about 50 miles a day for school. Winters can get pretty bad here so it needs to be able to go over snow and ice with ease. I also do a lot of hunting in every season. Rocks and hills need to be like a walk in the park.
I'm willing to modify it a little if needed.
Replaced the key switch because it was broken. Purchased a new key switch installed it. Now truck will turn over click but nothing will come on besides the interior lights. We tried to push it off didn't work. The fuel pump won't even kick on now either which before it would before we changed the broken key switch. Not sure what elts to put that's what we done tho 3 troops to the party store and hrs later and stop not running.
So last week I brought my truck into the shop to get new brakes and when I went to pick it up it wouldn't start so I got a jump and drove it home and charged the battery, it started right up drove around for a while than parked it overnight. The next morning it wouldn't start so I got a new battery started right up and started the next morning. I went on vacation for 7 days came home dead battery… Could this be the alternator?
