1990 ford ranger misses after warm up?

Engine dies and services light comes on, wait a few minutes and runs again

EASY and CHEAP! Take about $20-30 to any oil change place and have the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE removed and cleaned up al;ong with the THROTTLE BODY! USe MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil and BOSCH or ENSO iridium plgus and expect up to a 20% improvement inpower and economy! GOOD LUSK and BYE NOW!

Possibly a cylinder misfire, once it acts up start unplugging injectors one at a time (plug each on back in) to power balance the engine and locate the problematic cylinder

This is heat related. Check for fuel and spark when this happens. If no spark ignition module is acting fine cool but when heating up it acts bad until it cools off. A bad crank sensor will do the same thing. If you have spark then the fuel pressure needs to be checked. Easy way to test fuel pump is to spray starting, brake clean, or WD-40 fluid into intake and try. If she starts and runs as you spray then your fuel pump has over heated and only works when cool.
