What do y'all think of a ford ranger pickup 1990?
I'm interested in a 1990 ford ranger pickup truck. It is a four cylinder and 5 speed truck. Do any of you have any good experience with these trucks?
Yes I do. I have had 5 rangers.
All used car rules apply, look to see how the interior is, look at the oil, check the clutch to see where it grabs I currently have a 2004 edge 4x4. Your 4 banger, and five speed will go on for a long as the oils was changed, I sold mine with over 200K.
I had a 92 ranger 5 speed. Bought it new off the lot. The clutch was the only thing that ever gave me problems. Always ran great. I sold that truck 2 years ago to get something bigger due to family size increase. I wish I still had that truck.
A guy locally bought it from me, and I still see him driving it daily.
The transmission is a pricey deal, make sure the gearbox is good. I think they want $1K for a good rebuilt one. $500 for a guess if it's good one at a junk yard. I think it's a Mazda part / engine, same as a B2200.
Get it on a big hill and see if it pops out of gear downshifting normally on a steep hill, if it passes it's fine.
- Would a transmission from a 1993-94 ford ranger lariet be compatible with a 1990 model? Can they be interchanged? Or looking for used/rebuilt transmission for 1990 model… Automatic with 2.9 liter,6 cyclinder
- I just bought a 1990 Ford Ranger and it is doing something weird? As stated in the title I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger today and it had recently gotten some parts replaced including: Fly Wheel, Starter, tires and some others. But the problem is, when I'm stop and accelerate the whole truck shakes and jiggles and I'm not exactly sure what it is? Any comments help. It's a Ford Ranger 1990 Automatic 4wd. Also, I'm not sure if this is normal on these old of cars but when on the freeway going about 65 that's red lining it.
- Can I save money by adding hho to my 1990 ford ranger? I always see these water generators online that claim if you add this to your already fuel burning vehicle it would make it more efficient. I love my little ranger but gas is so expensive and I drive long distances. It just doesn't seem like it could actually work or more people would be doing it right? Are the kits hard to put in? Is it worth my time/money? Will I actually save or is this just what they are claiming?
- Can a low oil light cause my 1990 ford ranger to not turn over? I started my truck a few days ago and it ran descent considering i need new plugs and wires, when i tilted it over on its side (only about six inches on the driver side), it had a small oil drip, when i tried to start it today it wouldnt turn over and whenever i turned the key, the check oil light came on, will it start if i add some oil to it?
