Why such a wide price range for private party sale?

I'm looking to buy a used Ford Ranger, I priced it as close to accurate as I could on KBB, NADA, and Edmunds TMV.

KBB says about $7,000 for fair condition, and a little over 8 grand for really good condition.

TMV seems to be the lowballer at around $3,500 in average condition.

And NADA says between $5,600 and $7,100 trade in range, I didn't see a private party value option.

Why is there such a crazy price range between the 3? I know KBB tends to be a tad high these days, but should I just average the three so I know what to offer the guy?

What is a face lift for the Ford Ranger?

I know in 1989 the Ford Ranger received a facelift did it really change the complete vehicle model itself (in other words is it a new model and year and new generation for the Ranger as of 1989).

How long, on average, does a 70's Ford ranger F150 transmission last?

Thinking about getting this truck. Guy selling it has papers proving he's had work done for the transmission, but that was 15 years ago. Would I need to worry about the transmission being any good because of age? He's asking 2500, says it drives great. No problems under the hood, just cosmetology.

Ford Ranger Transmission Problem?

A friend and I have been working on his 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 XLT 2wd 5-speed manual. The transmission is an M5OD-R1 and we ran into a problem. The goal is to have this moving again and turned into a rat rod before he goes to drill for the army. But, he said he was driving on the interstate and shifted into 3rd, heard a clunk now the transmission is stuck in 3rd gear. We started taking out the transmission and stripped one of the bolts (12-13mm or 1/2 inch) so bad it's a complete circle now, any ideas for that? Overall, the truck is worthless but him and I both have sentimental value to it. I mean hell, it's got 331k miles on it. Anyhow, from what I described what do you think the transmission problem could be? Shifting fork bent or broke? A rod messed up? Any ideas would be helpful.

Is a 1989 to 1992 Ford Ranger very hard to find?

Usually I'm only seeing a 1993 to present Ford Ranger on my streets of town. The old Ford Ranger from 1983 to 1992 (I call 1983 to 1992 Ford Rangers "1980s Ford Ranger Truck") is the ranger I rarely see in my town. I know a lot of those 1980s vehicles are very hard to find but is the 1983 to 1992 Ford Ranger very rare and hard to find? Would it be a good truck to buy if I did find one? Is there not much many of them left in the United States?
