I ran over something going about 60 mph on the passenger side. The wheel is now tilted outward just enough to be noticeable. Is it a broken control arm? Or strut? It was hit hard enough to engage the fuel pump cut off switch so something must be broken.
I have a ford focus 1999 1.4 and when I'm slowing down for a junction it every now and then cuts out. It's only when I'm slowing down quite fast it tends to happen. Just before it does happen my battery light appears on my dash board and if I lift of the clutch it dissappears. I've been told this could be the engine speed sensor or idle control valve.
I don't know if it has anything to so with this but my egine also hunts. Normally only at the beginning when I first drive it the revs will sit between 900 and 1500. Every now and then the revs will jump up to 2000 but this only happens for about the first 5 minutes of driving. It's only when I come to a stop the egine hunts but it's never as bad as it is from the start.
If anyone could share any light on this I would really appreciate it as it would save me a lot of money!
On a 2003 ford focus 2.0 engine what does the code PO401 mean?
I have a 2006 Ford Focus wagon (HatchBack) and it has 131,000 Kms on it. Since last few days the car is driving funny following are the issues I have noticed
1. The Engine light is on continuously
What I did: I disconnected the battery Negative terminal for 15 mins and placed it back and the problem was resolved.
2. The o/d off light comes on when I drive (It blinks in ORANGE color). I noticed this light comes on as soon as I start speeding above 50 km/hr. I also have seen the temperature for the car went high all the way from Min to almost middle of its reading. I'm not sure what is going wrong here.
3. Transmission: It is acting funny for last few days. The transmission slips a lot I think. On first gear I have put a lot gas to go to second gear. Sometimes it gives me a jerk while shifting gear. It just happens when I again stop at STOP sign and starts driving then I have to push gas paddle harder to make gear shift.
I'm not sure what is going wrong with my car. Is it transmission fluid or something bigger or just a solenoid? I will appreciate any thoughts coming from you guys.
I just want some extra speed, is there any turbo kits that can go on my car? If so what kind should I get? Or what else could I do to my car to make it faster?
I'm not interested in trading it in for a different car, I want this car to be fast.
I'm looking for ways to make my 2014 ford focus faster. I'm willing to spend a lot of money. And I love cars but I know absolutely nothing about them.
So what I'm asking for is basically a list of things I could do to make my car faster.
I have a 2000 Ford Focus ZTS and my brake pedal feels so hard my car don't even stop right when i want it to. Right now i'm and testing the brake booster and i can't decide if that is the problem. Also when i'm driving at any speed and then release the accelerator the car sounds like it has a struggle on the release of acceleration. It has trouble going up hills and it use to never have that problem. We found a hose that was wear down and bought a new one from Ford. I don't feel safe driving the car when it is busy because people stop rapidly and my car needs way more time for breaking. These are the only two big problems i have right now.
Can certain parts interchange between Ford focus and Ford contour?
Accident left my key in last night and it won't start. Anti-theft light is blinking. Checked all fuses and relay and there good. It was working fine before.
