I live in Lake County Ca. & in 3 weeks I have to go to San Francisco to pick up my other half from the airport. Its 3 and a half hours away, so I'm going to be driving about 97 miles to San Francisco & then 97 miles to come back home. My car is a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS.(I just got it) I just need an idea of how much money I'm going to waste on gas. Just to be prepared. Thank-you.
So about a month or so ago my ford focus started acting up. It kept stalling and buckling after a complete stop, but runs just fine after getting up to speed. About a week or so after that started, the "check engine" light came on. I'm taking it to the shop soon I was just hoping someone would maybe tell me what's going on with my car please?

I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with the DOHC Zetec engine. I was just wondering if having the motor run at about 3000 RPMs going 70 mph is normal and if this is hurting the engine? It just seems really high, especially when it down shifts and goes to about 4700 RPM when I go up some hils. Also, where is the red line on this engine? The cluster doesn't indicate where it is.
Went and got the code. P0172. He said my car is "running too rich. "… I had crashed it a few months ago, and noticed I'm putting in more gas Than I ever had to. It was dying every now and then. Hasn't died in weeks. Check engine light came on two days ago. What could this mean?
I've had a couple used cars, a 2001 ford taurus and a 2001 mustang GT and i'm finally looking at new cars. The focus ST caught my eye for a couple reasons. Its practical and has lots of room inside but is also pretty quick, only a little behind my mustang in power. I plan on keeping it mostly stock except a flowmaster exhaust, love the sound of them and have put them on my mustang end even got one to fit on my taurus XD and they make a flowmaster kit specifically for this car. All in all it seems like a good car i will have fun with for a long time. I don't want to make the mistake my friends did and buy a cheap weak new car just to say they have a new car then end up not liking it then they are stuck with a new car they don't want to hold on to. And yes as you may have noticed about my history with cars, i only buy ford. I would get a new GT if i could afford it, but i can't XD

I have an 02 Ford Focus. Checking the oil yesterday I noticed that the coolant had 'disappeared.' The oil was fine so no leaking into there and I can't see any leaks on the driveway.
As yesterday was a bank holiday I couldn't go to the motor factors to get coolant so I just topped up with a bit of water until I got a chance to go to the motor factors today.
Took the car for good drive to see if the car would over heat, but it didn't.
What could be wrong here?
