If i'm not driving my car, but am making payments on it, does it still have to be insured?

I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta that i have been paying off for a few months, but I plan to join the navy. I still have a little over 4 years of payments left on this car. If i leave to the navy, i will leave the car in my garage. So does it need to be insured if there's no chance of it getting damaged. I know that new cars, if you are making payments, need to have full coverage, but i'm not sure if that is the case if its never driven. Id rather not pay 200 a month for a car i'm not driving.

Creaking noise in 2009 Ford Fiesta?

Sixth Gen. Ford Fiesta, there's a creaking noise coming from the driver side seatbelt well, especially when going over bumps. Noise is light but stupidly annoying at night when there's little external noise. Does anybody have any idea what it may be and how it can be fixed? I've taken it back to the dealer (who were useless) and they said that they couldn't find anything.

How does a Ford Fiesta TDCi 1.4 Zetec Perform against a Mini ONE 1.6 (Petrol)?

Hi, I currently have a 2003 Mini ONE 1.6L (petrol) and have enjoyed driving it for 2 years now, but as it is 11 years old (and has done 116,000 miles), I have decided that it's time to move on. I have put down a deposit on a Fiesta TDCi 1.4 Zetec which is only 4 years old (2010) and has very low mileage (28,000). This seemed like a great option as it is a lot younger and less mileage and, being a diesel, I'll be saving on running costs.

My only concern is it's performance against my Mini. I only drive short distances during the week, but on the weekend, I travel from Bristol to Cardiff and enjoyed the Mini's performance on the motorway.

According to the stats, the Mini is about 10.6 seconds 0-60 whereas the Fiesta is 14.8 seconds 0-60 which is obviously quite a big difference.

What I want to know though is how the Fiesta performs whilst on the motorway and specifically when I need to accelerate (like when overtaking). How does it compare to the Mini, or even the petrol equivalent of the Fiesta.

Please could someone give me some info/experience on this as I'm hoping I haven't bought a car that's too under-powered.

What are some good first cars?

I'm 16 and male (will be 17 in October). I'm looking at what car i could get for a first car. My price is Max: £2000 (i'm british)
Anything under that would be even better.
Engine size can be 1.2L or less due to insurance.

Any suggestions on what cars?
