Ford f150 Sometimes idles rough?

I have a 2007 ford f150. Yesterday when i was driving to the mall it worked fine and ran smoothly but the second i rolled into the parking spot the engine started to make a loud clacking noise and the whole truck started violently shaking. After 5 seconds of this happening i immediately shut the car off and went to the mall to let it cool down. When i got back after about 30 minutes i turned it on and it idled normally. I then drove about 20 minutes to work and when i stops at a toll booth on a highway it started violently shaking and making a tapping or clacking noise. I immediately turned it off and turned it back on about 2 seconds after and it idled perfectly again. This has happened already 6 times. I already changed the o2 sensor so that's not the problem.

How much in mechanic costs am I looking at?

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 pick up, and it needs the rear leaf springs replaced, about how much on average does it cost to do that?

Also if my right blinker isn't working, like the one on the mirror and inside blinks but the one on the back doesn't, it just needs a bulb replaced correct?

Looking into getting new car, unsure what to do?

I'm a new driver looking into getting my first car. My dad has been helping me. I learned to drive on a 1998 ford f150. He has a friend looking to sell a 1999 F150, in very good condition. The pros of this is we know the driver and how they took care of the truck. It has upwards of 200,000 miles but pretty good shape. I have a limited budget. A few months ago he agreed to sell it to us for a reduced price when i had the money. I had the money and was about to buy it when the brakes needed to be replaced. A couple months later, the brakes aren't done. Just for kicks i looked on the internet for my dream car, a VW Beetle. I hoped what i would find in my price range would tell me i was making the right decision with the truck. Alas, it was not so. I found 2 pretty little bugs with everything i need to be happy. Both are in my price range and about 100,000 miles less than the truck. However, they are both stick shifts. Since I'm new to driving I would not be opposed to learning stick. Where I live is rural but the closest "city" (halfway between town and city if you ask me) can get pretty busy. So my dilemmas are as follows- is it hard to drive stick? Should I buy the truck from my dads friend or talk to him about backing out so he can sell the truck at a higher price (after all it will have new brakes)? Should I go for my dream car or should I get the slightly safer F150 and wait until later in life to get a beetle? I'm sorry for the long question, but I appreciate your time.

Why is my 2003 ford f150 make a.squeaking noise when i turn on the ac?

I have a 2003 ford f150 v6 4.2 and when I start it up the serpentine belt squeals, only for about 2 seconds then it stops. The only other time it makes that noise is when I turn on the a/c. I was told it could be the tensioner, but I don't want to just buy the part without getting other opinions.

Ford Truck Owners: Which truck should I buy?

I have my choice of 2 Ford trucks. I'm just wondering, based on these descriptions, which one you think would last longer and would be more beneficial to me. Thanks!

First Ford pickup is a 1981 F100 Lariat automatic with a 8' foot bed, 300 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder engine with new tires and original motor and transmission. It has 116,000 original miles.

Next is a 2001 Ford F150 Lariat Supercrew shortbed with new tires, original motor and transmission and it has 108,000 miles on it.

Both bodies are straight and interior is very clean. I don't know much about Ford's so I'm coming to you guys to help me a little.

Also, both trucks are the same price.

What should I have with me in case my truck gets stuck?

I live in an area that you have to drive off the road to get to a lot of places. Which also means it is really easy to get stuck if you have a smaller truck. I have a 2003 single cab ford f150, it has a lot of power for a truck but doesn't get very good traction. What should I have with me to get unstuck when needed.

I already have a hitch and ball mount attached at all times, a heavy duty ratchet set, and a couple of recovery straps.
