What would cause a 1995 ford straight 6 to not fire right on every other cylinder?
The truck is a 1995 f-150 4x4 and its running so rough the engine is shaking
Do you know for sure that only every other cylinder is firing? Or are you just emphasizing how rough it is? Sounds like you have random/multiple misfires.
To start, I would make sure your ignition wires are going to the correct cylinders by following them from the ignition coils. If someone has changed the spark plugs/wires recently, it can be common to accidentally switch some. Someone could've done it just to mess with you.I've had a buddy do that to me before haha.
if that seems fine, I would check your spark plugs one by one. Check for them to be fouled or corroded.
Some more info would help. Does it run rough all the time or just at idle? Has it lost a lot of power, or just shake a lot?
Sounds like the plug wires are crossed.
- Why is it that when someone owns a Chevy/Ford/Mopar they feel the need to rip on every other brand of vehicle? I mean it's as if they were getting paid to advertise their opinion. Just because you're a loyal Ford fan boy doesn't mean that Chevys are complete garbage. I drive a Ford but I don't go around trash talking everyone who likes Chevys.
- What would cause my speedometer not to work on my 2001 ford windstar? Sometimes the speedometer works fine and sometimes it goes up to 20/25mph. Then stops there. All other gauges work fine. I took it to the shop and they replaced a sensor and the whole new speedometer console thing and it still went up to 20/25 mph. And stopped so they put my original parts back on so I didn't have pay for them. They told me to take it to ford dealership. Any ideas will b appreciated Thanks
- What would cause a cent to not blow on a 2001 Ford Taurus? I have a 2001 Taurus. Recently the heat/ac will blow everywhere but through the vents. Defroster and floor work. But the vent will not work. I checked the vacuum lines and everything looks good. Any idea?
