What should I have with me in case my truck gets stuck?
I live in an area that you have to drive off the road to get to a lot of places. Which also means it is really easy to get stuck if you have a smaller truck. I have a 2003 single cab ford f150, it has a lot of power for a truck but doesn't get very good traction. What should I have with me to get unstuck when needed.
I already have a hitch and ball mount attached at all times, a heavy duty ratchet set, and a couple of recovery straps.
I keep a Come-a-long in my Bronco. Bought a heavy duty one on sale at Harbor Freight with coupon for less than $50.
I also have some heavy rope and about 20' of chain to hook the come-a-long to.
It only cranks about an inch at a time but it has the power to pull my full sized bronco out of the mud if I get stuck.
The other option would be to get an electric winch…
More aggressive tyres might help. BFG mud and snow are good. Learn how to use your 4wd system and centre diff lock. Its a bit expensive but if you fit air locking diffs front and rear you'll hardly ever get stuck. If you have a winch too you are all set.
But a lot is about learning how to drive off road. If in doubt take your feet off everything. Revving hard and spinning the tyres never helps. Most times a light foot will get you to creep out if trouble. Join an offroad club to learn the techniques with experts.

- What should I do in this case? I was trained for a position at ford (paid training). A few days later I was told I won't be hired because of my background. I asked if I'll still be paid for the training sessions I attended, the lady told me No and that she never told me to attend training but I have text messages to prove she did. Any advise?
- My truck gets 23mpg, is this good or bad gas mileage? My daily driver is a 2003 Ford Ranger single cab, great truck and al for mel. It's a 4 banger, and I recently decided to calculate and find out how many miles per gallon it gets and it came out tp 23 miles per gallon, and I rarely drive on the interstate either. If that matters. Is my truck good on gas or is it a guzzler in your opinion?
- Have a 1982 200 Ford inline 6, It idles perfect And quiet, when you accelerate it gets a good amount of power for about a second then? Starts losing power, if you floor it, it will die. Starts losing most power at half throttle after that it starts to hesitate. Has a new carburetor, timing is good, advancer working, new spark plugs, fuel pump, filter, pcv valve, vaccum lines good, Ah I forgot to mention it runs better with the choke about 3/4 closed, no diaphragm for pump. It has original electronic ignition.
- Truck gear stuck in Park uphill? My 2002 Ford F150 is stuck in Park up a hill and the gear will not budge. Is there a way to resolve the issue without getting it towed?
