Spilled A lot of oil need some

So went out to add oil to my truck, and like a dummy tried doing it with out a bottle. A pretty large amount did not make it in the hole and spilled all down the side of the engine, I wiped up as much as I could off the top where the oil fill is, but couldn't really get down around anything. Nothing hit the belt, and I'm almost positive nothing went in to anything important. Is this going to be ok to let burn off? I work nights and everything is closed when I get home and I normally sleep most of the day. I drive a 1997 ford ranger. So it can be known where the oil fill is and what is around it.

1994 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3?

I had to replace the timing belt because the old one broke. I locked the tensioner to the loose position during dismantling. I put the new belt on and can't get enough tension on it to make it seat into the camshaft pulley so every time I rotate the crankshaft pulley it slips time. Is there a way to force the tensioner back over? There's nothing to pry on to get it back over so I can lock it into the tension position.

Low Credit, High Down Payment. Odds Of Approved Auto Loan?

I'm currently in the market for a truck upgrade. My Ford Ranger simply can't hold up to the work load it has, and what I need to be able to do (Haul apple bins, horse and flat bed trailers) It is a nice truck for its age. I do not want to ruin its value by running it into the ground.
I have relatively new credit, I have only one line open (Les Schwab tires) and a current score of 589. Not one late payment.
With the intent to sell the Ranger, and payoff the tires I plan to have a 4000-5000 down payment on the vehicle I choose. The max I will be spending on this new truck will be $9000. I plan to buy used. I don't need fancy. Just a little newer, space, and able to haul and hold up to the work load it will have. Something I can use for a while. I just feel anything newer would be out of my monthly price range. I would like to keep payments under 200. Simply to give space for emergencies.
I make around $1000 a month before tax. However, I work as a horse trainer, and do a various amount of jobs for locals that can gain me anywhere between $600-800 a month on top of my normal wage.
I would like to know my odds of an approved auto loan with the above information. I'm still very green to credit, learning how it works and the best way to build/use it. Any advice is apprentiated. I just want to get some information/ideas before I start walking into banks or dealers!

Tires for a 1976 Ford F150 Ranger?

Truck currently has P255/70R15. I'm looking for a shorter/lower tire that is still more than capable of taking the weight of the truck. Any suggestions?

Weight difference between I/O and Outboard boat?

I've been looking at used boats and I noticed that boats that have an I/O engine are about twice the weight of boats that have an outboard motor. For example, a 17' bowrider with an I/O sterndrive weights almost 2000 lbs, whereas a 17' Outboard bowrider only weighs about 900 lbs. Does this sound right to you guys? Weight does matter to me because my towing vehicle would be a V6 Ford Ranger.

Ford Ranger blowing white smoke but not overheating?

I recently just bought this truck, a '94 Ford Ranger V6 3.0L, 5 Speed with 138,000 miles.
I took it to a relative's house a little over a month ago and my check oil light was on so I just went for a normal service (didn't have a service sticker on when I bought it). I had them check it for oil leaks and they changed the oil plug and said that I had some leaking around the motor that wasn't that bad.

So I left it alone and just stuck with changing the plug. Around this time I started noticing that when I was driving around in the city where I have to start and stop a lot that it was blowing some white smoke while sitting and then when I would take off through first and second gear.

A month later my oil light came on that my oil was low again, so I changed it and went and replaced my valve seals also as they showed signs of needing replacing. As soon as I had it back together, I took it down the road and brought it back. When I got out and let it idle for a few minutes, it seemed to be blowing quite a bit of the thin white smoke.
The next day I found out that my water pump was leaking, so I started taking it back apart to replace it.

I'm concerned that the white smoke means I have a blown head gasket, but the truck NEVER heats up past the normal range on the temperature gauge. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be? Is it most likely the head gasket?

How dangerous is water to a cold air intake?

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that I recently bought and it has pretty bad gas mileage and I'd like to fix that and the power behind the engine. Where I live we get pretty significant rain fall and some small puddles that you end up having to drive through. The last think I want to do is hydro lock my engine. Are heavy rain and small puddles actually a danger for hydro locking a CAI? Even if I were to buy one of the waterproof jackets?

My 1995 ford ranger broke its transmission?

We thought it was a transfer case but it ended up breaking a price inside the transmission. I don't know what it is called but it goes from the front all the way into the transfer case. And it also snapped the bracket that goes between the transmission and transfer case.
