What was it like when you learned how to drive a manual transmission?

I had a 2003 Ford Mustang and earlier this week, I traded it to a 2009 Ford Mustang with a manual transmission. I had done plenty of research and had a couple lessons prior to but were a long time ago.
I have the car now, it's been about 6 days now. I'm just now getting the biting point and can ride without stalling. I have a deathly fear of hills and can only pull away from one if there's nobody behind me, if there's, I'll freak out and stall. I can go to work and the basics but I stay home a lot more because I get extremely nervous when I'm behind the wheel even though I can get to where I need to go without stalling. What was it like when you first learned? We're you as scared as I'm? How do you go about shifting gears smoothly. How long did it take before it was like second nature to you? Any Tipss on anything? I would like drive as comfortable as I was in my automatic and I would like to feel the "fun" of driving a manual transmission.

347 Stroker
Dynoed 600+hp
3 Speed/reverse manual trans. W/brake
4600 Stahl converter
Ford 9inch 430 gear Moser axles
Or a basic stock 2014 subaru wrx which has 268 horsepower I believe.
Straight drag strip 1 mile

Should I complain to Ford Motor Company?

I bought a 2012 Ford Mustang in February of 2012. At the beginning of April 2014, I discovered a huge water leak that would saturate the floor of the drivers side of the car (front and back). I called The dealer that I bought the car from and they told me they couldn't see my car for a week. I made my appointment and dried my car, only to have it soaked again waiting for the car to be seen for its "appointment". Anyway, I brought my car in and it took them 5 weeks to get the car back to me. It spent two weeks at the dealership while they told me they looked into the problem and fixed it. Then they finally admitted they couldn't fix it and sent it to a body shop. The body shop then had the car for three weeks. At the 4 1/2 week mark, the body shop owner had said (after taking apart the whole front end of my car) that he had between 20 and 30 man hours in the car already and was no closer to finding the source of the leak. He then went on to say that he fixes one thing and it leaks from somewhere else. In the Next half a week, apparently they were able to locate all leaks, test to make sure it wasn't still leaking, bring it back to the dealership, have the dealership test it, replace the carpets, and clean the exterior (I'm very skeptical). I went to pick up the car to find out that there were 18 new scratches or paint chips in the paint. They know it was their fault because i showed them the car before i handed them the keys.
