Two important things to consider. One, is it a 3.8L V6 or the 4.6L V8? I would immediately disqualify the 3.8. If it is a 4.6L V8, does it have a manual or automatic transmission. If it is automatic, I would disqualify that choice. A 4.6L stick could run for a while, but that is still a lot of miles for a Ford of that year. Proceed with caution.

The real $$$ in a front-engine rear-drive car is in the body & the interior - You can drop-in a 'new' engine in a day. So, if the body sheet metal is straight & the interior is intact & clean, start negotiating.

If it's the GT, and you can get it cheap enough, go for it. The GT's 4.6L V8 can last 300,000 miles or more.

If it's the V6 model, pass. Ford's 3.8L V6s are prone to eating head gaskets, and are gutlessly underpowered.
