What would be the best year of car to buy for a new driver?
I'm wanting a truck but I'm having an issue determining what year I want.
I'm not ever going to go into debt for a car.
I was thinking a 70's or early 80's Ford due to fact that the interior is mostly steel instead of cheap (cracking) plastic, and I can easily work on it and fix it (Thus it will last me pretty much forever) and those trucks are the year I was raised around and have the feel for most.
That's my 2 cents, what do you guys recommend?
P.S. I was raised with the safest driver around. And I take my driving more seriously than anything else. I'm not a distracted bad driver. (Although I'm slow). I also do not drive on the interstate unless absolutely warranted.
A Ford with a 302 and a manual transmission. Can't miss.
70's and 80's are consider classics now and harder to find good condition at a good price.
I would buy a truck in the 90's or 2000 because the cost is actually lower or the same. You don't want to deal with carburetors.
You'd want to avoid the old stuff due to rust. I'd go find a Chevy Tahoe or one of its GM siblings as they have depreciate a lot due to high gas prices and are easy to fix and reasonably reliable.
- What's the best car for a new teen driver? I'm going to be getting my first car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of car would be best for a 16 year old girl! I'm not too picky on the model and I just wanted to know what would be best, most affordable choice for me right now.
- What is the best first car for a 16 year kid? Getting my kid a car between the years of 1960 and 1980 because he wants one. Don't care about gas, price or insurance. Not to throw flowers on myself but we can afford it completely. I was thinking between a 1966 Ford Mustang or maybe a 70s Cadillac or a 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV which my father had and i had great memories in.
- Good first car for new driver? I'm almost 16 and my parents want your opinions. Would a 2005 Ford Mustang (not a gt) be an okay car for a teen? Or would there be too much power? Also if you have a mustang: How fast do they go? Any reoccurring problems linked to mustangs?
- What's a good car for a new driver? I just got my license in a few months ago and have been driving my parents car (a 2007 Ford Focus), and have been wondering about a car of my own. I don't want anything too expensive. I'm aiming to pay anywhere between 2000 and 6000 for a decent car with good mileage.
