What is the best first car for a 16 year kid?
Getting my kid a car between the years of 1960 and 1980 because he wants one. Don't care about gas, price or insurance. Not to throw flowers on myself but we can afford it completely. I was thinking between a 1966 Ford Mustang or maybe a 70s Cadillac or a 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV which my father had and i had great memories in.
If you can afford it then don't let him drive an old car, safety, handling, brakes, have come a long way. Buy a new Mustang, Caddie or Lincoln… If you can only afford 15-20, you can find some nice 3-4 year off lease deals… My kids drove Volvos when they started, Volvos were the safest cars back then, I bought them so I didn't have to put flowers on their graves…
Yet another death trap big lumps and old cars have serious defects.
Get the 1969 mark 3 its got 365 hp and 500 ft lbs torque.
Since YOU are the 16 year old kid, I would take whatever my folks could afford to get. Take you parents around with you and look at different cars and see what is available.
Kids wreck their first and second car. Not until they earn the money and pay for the car do they become careful. Just decide what car could get smashed up and you wouldn't care. Then buy that one.
- What's the first car you owned and best 4 cars made in your country? 1. First car I owned was a Ford mercury sedan left by a ww2 pilot at our farm. - Which car is the best first car? - 1 I'm 16 and I'm going to be saving up to buy a car. I want to spend $1000-$5000. I will likely have it all the way through college. I'm looking for comfort, safety, space (I'd be hauling my stuff to college), and winter capability. Here is what I like. -2000-07 Ford Taurus SEL -2000-07 Mercury Sable LS Premium -2005-07 Ford Five-Hundred Limited AWD Which one should I get? I'd like to stick with a V6 that's either FWD or AWD.
- Best new first car under $20,000? I'm a 16 year old guy and my parents want me to get a new car (they have less problems/repairs). The only catch is that it must be under $20k and I have to pay 25-50% of the price. I really want a 2014 v6 mustang, but my dad thinks fords are trash. Don't say anything about insurance, I know it will be high for a 16 year old boy on any new car.
- What kid of car should I consider? Chrysler 200 Dodge Dart Jeep Patriot Chevrolet Malibu Ford Focus Ford Fusion I'm a really big Chrysler fan so allot of my attention is drawn to those cars, but I also feel obligated to look into GM and Ford.
