Good first car for new driver?

I'm almost 16 and my parents want your opinions.

Would a 2005 Ford Mustang (not a gt) be an okay car for a teen? Or would there be too much power?

Also if you have a mustang:
How fast do they go?
Any reoccurring problems linked to mustangs?

You should check out the Mustang forums for info on your last question. Unless your parents think you're mature enough for a hot car then get ready to drive a used Prius.
Fast? Only if you could out run the cops which I don't think it could.
Seriously, check out www.motortrend.com for a review and watch out for plain clothes cop cars & red lights.
Hope you get one!

Yes a Scion TC/ Subaru BRZ would be a good option, but since you were asking about a 2005 Mustang, it seems as if there's a bit of a budget. If money isn't an issue and you want some sporty, economical and reliable… Check out a Scion TC. But if you could go for something a little more practical, check out a sedan, maybe a Camry SE?

NO Mustangs are a HORRIBLE choice for a first car since you will pay through the nose for insurance on it (even the V6)

If you want a sports car, Scion TC's, a nice Cavalier Z24 (if you could find a nice one), Chevy Cobalt, "older" Mitsubishi Eclipse's are great, Dodge Dart (if you want something new), and Hyundai Tiburons are probably "the best" and most reliable sports (coupes/cars) on the road. I regret getting rid of mine and I'm 38. HA Good luck.

Nope.
