What's a good car for a new driver?

I just got my license in a few months ago and have been driving my parents car (a 2007 Ford Focus), and have been wondering about a car of my own.

I don't want anything too expensive. I'm aiming to pay anywhere between 2000 and 6000 for a decent car with good mileage.

That really depends on what you want and need from a vehicle. There's no one answer for all new drivers.

$2K will only buy you an older and/or high mileage vehicle. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you know what to look for and you have the knowledge and means to repair vehicles yourself. If you do not, you will likely need to spend more but keep in mind that you will also need insurance. Insurance costs for a new driver is definitely not cheap and you will need to factor that in with your car shopping budget.

It's hard to beat a Honda accord,… Or a Toyota Camray… For a starter car,… Take your time and find a well cared for one

  • What's the best car for a new teen driver? I'm going to be getting my first car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of car would be best for a 16 year old girl! I'm not too picky on the model and I just wanted to know what would be best, most affordable choice for me right now.
  • Good first car for new driver? I'm almost 16 and my parents want your opinions. Would a 2005 Ford Mustang (not a gt) be an okay car for a teen? Or would there be too much power? Also if you have a mustang: How fast do they go? Any reoccurring problems linked to mustangs?
  • Would a ford fusion be a good car for a first time driver like me? This would be my first car I ever had and I don't know how to drive yet but I'm gonna take driving lesson before I even get a car PS I already have my learner permit
  • Sell current lease car to buy a new car? Good idea? So I live in CT and I wanted to know if this could be possible. I was told that if I wanted to I could sell my leased 2016 Ford Fusion energi to a spot like CarMax a couple of months before the lease was done and if they would offer a higher price then the remaining amount owed on my lease I could do that and pay off the lease and then keep the extra money as a down payment towards the purchase of another car?
