Tranny replacement, 76 ford, what to get?
I'm considering a new tranny in my truck. It has a np435 in it and I want something that will put the power down better. It absolutely has to be a manual though. Suggestions.
This should be in the LGB section
After requesting a manual gearbox for your mid 1970's F-series you could find a NV4500 and have a transmission shop swap in the five speed manual in place of your current four speed manual.
- Why did my 2000 Ford Windstar just blow all off the tranny fluid out. But now its not leaking anything? I drove it with a trailer attached all day then I dropped the trailer off and drove home. When a was turning on to my street the car violently shuck but kept going I pulled into my drive way and looked under my car and big puddle of tranny fluid everywhere. So I filled it up this morning and drove it 75 miles and when I got back I was still full on fluid and nothing was leaking. So WHY?
- Any tricks to installing a tranny filter on a 2000 ford taurus? I got it out but the new one won't go back in. There's a lip it seems to be to big to get past. I tryed oil.
- What desiel engine/tranny should I get in my 69 Ford Mustang? I want to put a desiel engine in my Mustang and I'm pretty sure I can fit a bluetec in it but I'm not sure what transmission I should use to match it. I definitely want a 5 speed manual at the least. And once I have installed the engine and transmission is there any other adjustments I need to make to maximize performance or just keep it from falling apart. And if you can please include the price I would be looking at along with where I could buy the part.
- I have a 1986 ford with the C6 tranny on a motorhome what fluid does it take? It looks like from what I was reading that type F is what will work but then I ran across info that states its only used in c6's from the 70's. Am I ok using type F? Also this vehicle is new to me is there anyway to tell what fluid type is in it now?
