Lifted ford ranger? Need advice?

So I'm 17, and I've been working 2 jobs, by September I will have enough for a 06 ford ranger extended cab. My goal is to put a 3 inch body lift on it, and bigger tires. I feel like 33's would work best? If anyone suggests anything else, let me know. How much does that usually run for 4 tires. Also anybody that's done what I want to do, or similiar, what specifications are there? What should know going into this? Any other parts that I need to buy besides the body lift and tires?

You need to forget about all of the addons for now and remember that there's a lot of cost involved with vehicle ownership i.e. - insurance, fuel, maintenance, licensing, etc, etc. Figure theses costs first and then see if you can rally afford any vehicle

Get a better truck.

I'd say have at least 2500 saved up for 4 tires, wheels, lift kit and alignment. Be aware that lifted trucks are much more prone to suspension issues down the road

  • I want advice if I should buy this Ford Ranger-Any opinion is great? I got my license a few months ago and am about to get a car, I really like this 97 Ford Ranger XLT crew cab 4.0 4x4 v6 and wondering if it is worth $3100 seeing as it has 187000 miles on it. I think its worth it cause I like working on cars but my parents are skeptical and I would really like some advice on convincing them with some good arguments of you think the truck is good.
  • I need a little advice in buying a new car? I have a great steady job and I can afford to buy a car from the dealership. It is the first time I ever go to a dealership for a car. I'm just wondering if there's any good reliable brands you can recommend to look out for? How is Ford, in your opinion? Also, what are the next steps one takes after buying a new car? Tags, plates, and insurance right?
  • Does anyone have a Ford Focus or a car with overdrive button? Need advice on the overdrive? Button! I'm confused. When I start my car, the overdrive [off] button goes off. Do I have to push the button on the gear shifter to turn it on? Or am I already in overdrive? I've read the manual and am still confused. I know that when I see overdrive off that it is off, but there's nothing to say it is on. Help! My question is even confusing, I know! Sorry!
  • First time car buyer: need advice? I would like to buy a car with the following conditions: safe, good gas mileage, easy for me to move seats down in case I move (I don't own much but two furniture pieces I have to put seats down), certified preowned. My family runs within the Toyota, ford and Chevy business but I'm willing to look beyond those as long as the cars aren t notorious for being a lemon. And how much would be good to put down?
