First time car buyer: need advice?
I would like to buy a car with the following conditions: safe, good gas mileage, easy for me to move seats down in case I move (I don't own much but two furniture pieces I have to put seats down), certified preowned. My family runs within the Toyota, ford and Chevy business but I'm willing to look beyond those as long as the cars aren t notorious for being a lemon. And how much would be good to put down?
Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot.
- I need a little advice in buying a new car? I have a great steady job and I can afford to buy a car from the dealership. It is the first time I ever go to a dealership for a car. I'm just wondering if there's any good reliable brands you can recommend to look out for? How is Ford, in your opinion? Also, what are the next steps one takes after buying a new car? Tags, plates, and insurance right?
- Does anyone have a Ford Focus or a car with overdrive button? Need advice on the overdrive? Button! I'm confused. When I start my car, the overdrive [off] button goes off. Do I have to push the button on the gear shifter to turn it on? Or am I already in overdrive? I've read the manual and am still confused. I know that when I see overdrive off that it is off, but there's nothing to say it is on. Help! My question is even confusing, I know! Sorry!
- Weird idea, need a car experts advice? I just picked up a 96 integra GSR shell and stupid idea but would be fast. I'm thinking of dropping in my ford ZETEC engine from a 2000 escort zx2, I was wondering if this is even possible and if so what all I would need to buy to make this fit? It's weird and possibly stupid but it's original and that's exactly what I want.
- Classic Car for First Time Driver? I'm a 14 year old guy who is into antique cars. I know my way around engines and I know how to fix them (I have expirience). I have been looking for a project car on Craigslist and I found a 1964 Ford Thunderbird with a 390 in it. Needs restoration. When I'm of age to drive it, it will be my daily driver. My concerns are the gas mpg will SUCK and it's not all that safe with things like drum brakes… Any input will be highly appreciated!
