I have a 1999 ford ranger and i have coolant in one of my vacuum lines?

Its the red line that runs to the egr vacuum mod on the passenger side of the motor. The part that the egr line goes to as well. I'm not sure why I have coolant running through a vacuum line. This causes coolant to run to the egr valve so I need to fix it

Base engine tests are indicated for soundness of cylinder heads, intake leak, and gaskets. Cooling system leakdown, cylinder leakdown and or compression. Even combustion gases in coolant test may be indicated.

Are you sure its coolant? Are you running the orange-ish stuff? There's also a vacuum line that runs to the tranny, which could have tranny fluid (redish) in the line. It tells the tranny when to shift but can become saturated with fluid. Just a thought.

A VACUUM LINE TO THE EGR COULD GO TO THE INTAKE AT SOME POINT OR SIMILAR BUT YOU COULD HAVE A CRACKED INTAKE.

  • Vacuum leak between carburetor and intake manifold? I have a 1966 ford f100 with a 390. After taking off the carb to clean it, I noticed a rough idle and fuel leaking from between the carburetor and intake manifold. So I replaced the gasket with a gasket specifically for Holley carburetors, but that didn't stop the leak. Any ideas? Would there be any reason the manifold or bottom of the carb would need to be resurfaced? Is sealant ever used?
  • 2002 ford taurus coolant bubbling out of coolant tank cap? Coolant is bubbling out of the tank cap on my taurus. The coolant is a bit over the fill to line. The coolant is the normal green color. I don't think it having a bit of extra coolant in the tank is doing this. The cap itself maybe? I just bought this car and it didn't do this until today.
  • 1999 Ford Taurus SE Wagon coolant leak? For a few weeks we have been having a mixture of coolant and oil on the ground. Today while doing the oil change and replacing the plug and gasket (which solved the leak) I notices whatever is right above the oil pan has a drop of antifreeze (diluted) coming off it about every thirty seconds. What part is this?
