2002 ford taurus coolant bubbling out of coolant tank cap?
Coolant is bubbling out of the tank cap on my taurus. The coolant is a bit over the fill to line. The coolant is the normal green color. I don't think it having a bit of extra coolant in the tank is doing this. The cap itself maybe? I just bought this car and it didn't do this until today.
Go to an auto parts store and puschase a chem test kit for the coolent. It will tell you iffin combustion gasses are entering the water jacket.
thing is, cross contamination of fluids (oil/coolent) is not a diffinative clue as to iffin a head gasket is bad or not. Combustion chamber gasses in the water jacket do not always exhibit signs of oil in water or water in oil. So…
possible thermostat issue otherwise.
- My 99 ford Taurus has a milky brown fluid in the coolant tank. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? The engine oil is fresh, with no milky color. It is an amber brown. the tranny fluid is pink/red my car will start, however it will not leave park. The gear shift will move but the car will not leave park. someone said it could be my head gasket however the car NEVER ran hot nor did it have any white smoke. ill take any suggestions or help offered.
- Can I pour head gasket sealer into my coolant tank? I have a 2002 Mercury Sable (Ford Taurus) with coolant leaking from the head gasket. There's no actual radiator cap or hose for me to access with the Blue Devil head gasket sealer I have. Will it work if I put it into my coolant tank?
- Bubbling/Gurgling sound a for a few seconds after car is shut off? Ok, so, I have a 2007 Ford Taurus SE. I just had to have the head gaskets replaced due to the engine overheating and blowing them, the car has been running fine since, but, now, any time I go 15 miles or more, and return home, for a few seconds after I shut off the car I can hear a Bubbling/Gurgling sound behind the glove box on the passenger side. I have read and some say it might be trapped air… Any ideas? Is this a serious problem?
- 2003 ford taurus ses sedan 3.0L OHV (vin: U) Loose fuel cap warning light (yellow light)? My "loose fuel cap warning light" is on inside my car. I had the gas cap replaced and no codes show up on the OBDII scan tool. What could cause the light to stay on?
