Can I pour head gasket sealer into my coolant tank?
I have a 2002 Mercury Sable (Ford Taurus) with coolant leaking from the head gasket. There's no actual radiator cap or hose for me to access with the Blue Devil head gasket sealer I have. Will it work if I put it into my coolant tank?
Your main problem is that coolant liquid is leaking from the head gasket. The only solution is to get the head gasket checked or replaced.
If you pour gasket sealer into the coolant tank, it will simply settle at the bottom of the tank and do nothing. Depending upon the pressure of the radiator, even if the gasket sealer is sucked with the coolant, it will circulate with the coolant and might get clogged in the channels of the radiator. And that is not good because it will block the flow of coolant. NO.it will block your heater core and you will not have any heat. It won't work wherever you put it. READ THE DIRECTIONS dumbass. If you can read and write well enough to post a stupid question here you're fully capable of reading the Blue Devil directions.
If it does work, which it often doesn't, it's only a temporary repair. It is not a substitute for getting it fixed properly by getting the head gasket replaced. My guess is that your car isn't worth doing that. Nope. All that's going to do is gunk up your heater core and other parts of your cooling system. There are no shortcuts to resealing a head gasket. These gimmicks will cost you more money in the long run. Not going to work. None of those additives work. We've seen what they do and what we have to replace adding to the bill. Get the gaskets done it will save money in the long run No, it works on the head gasket. Read the freaking container, it says what to do. Dunno I'm assuming your doing it because the car is worth nothing and your not planning on spending lots to fix a head gasket. If that is the case then yes you can pour in right into the tank. In a circulating type of tank, it can be done that way.
