Bubbling/Gurgling sound a for a few seconds after car is shut off?
Ok, so, I have a 2007 Ford Taurus SE. I just had to have the head gaskets replaced due to the engine overheating and blowing them, the car has been running fine since, but, now, any time I go 15 miles or more, and return home, for a few seconds after I shut off the car I can hear a Bubbling/Gurgling sound behind the glove box on the passenger side. I have read and some say it might be trapped air… Any ideas? Is this a serious problem?
Head gaskets so soon? Wow. Anyway, it's not necessarily critically "serious", but failure to correctly bleed the cooling system is indicative of careless, shoddy, possibly even incompetent work. It could even mean the new gasket(s) were incorrectly installed and have failed again. That repair bill wasn't cheap, was it?
You need to take it back to the idiots who did the work and at a BARE MINIMUM, have then properly bleed the system and refill with the correct coolant. I hope all it turns out to be is air pockets. Air in system = poor cooling of the engine and greatly shortened coolant and engine life, as well as poor heater performance.
It has air in the cooling system.
- Why does my car shut off with too much pressure on the steering wheel? I have a 1990 Ford Tempo. I replaced the ignition to starter cable on it, as it would randomly shut off when taking a hard right due to corrosion on it. However, it still randomly shuts off when too much pressure is applied to the steering wheel. I was suspecting that maybe it is the ignition switch, but I don't have the money to go to a mechanic at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem? And how was it fixed?
- 2002 ford Taurus cuts off a few secs after acceleration? OK my Taurus cranks and starts but she's shaking and sputtering like she's struggling to stay alive. When I press on the gas she dies. I have no problem cranking her back up. What's wrong with my baby?
- 2002 ford taurus coolant bubbling out of coolant tank cap? Coolant is bubbling out of the tank cap on my taurus. The coolant is a bit over the fill to line. The coolant is the normal green color. I don't think it having a bit of extra coolant in the tank is doing this. The cap itself maybe? I just bought this car and it didn't do this until today.
- Car overheats, AC is blowing warm, and gurgling noise from head gasket? My 2000 Ford Mustang has been acting up ever since I replaced the upper radiator hose. The hose had a massive hole burned into it from God knows what. It has been overheating recently, and just now after a short drive there was a loud gurgling noise and leak from the head gasket area, right next to where the oil gets poured in. I'm not sure where to go from here, advice?
