I have a 99 Ford contour svt has 2.5 v6 dohc. When my AC unit is on the car wants to die the battery light comes on I lose power steering. I replaced the AC compressor so I know its not locking up the serpentine belt squeals too with the AC on… When its off it runs fine any clue ways causing this?
My budget is 1000-3500 quids. So is buying a 2006 Mondeo a good deal?
Which is more fuel efficient Estate or Hatchback?
What are the things I should check when buying?

The wheels are 7"x17" and have the same 5x108 pcd, same 63.4 bore dia, and same offset of 50et. The wheels are fitted ok, I just want to know are there any legal reasons why they can't be fitted?
So I got a job at bob hurley ford about 2 weeks ago, I did go to a one year trade school for automotive preventative maintenance while I was in highscool, however that was all very basic training and not a whole lot of hands on, we were taught safety and not speed, which reveals my problem I will soon be switched from hourly to flag hour pay, and an oil change is only worth.3 hours (18 mins) and it probably takes me right around 25 but that includes our multi point inspection that is required. And I don't have the training to do many of the other jobs we offer such fluid exchanges and such, although I'm learning it obviously takes time to become quick at it. So my question is what are some tips to become quicker at oil changes tire rotations and fluid exchanges? I work with a drive in lift btw. And tips and hints are appreciated thank you in advance and extra safety suggestions as far as using the lift (because I was never trained to use one of the 2 post drive on lifts) or any other customer vehicle safety tips are greatly appreciated also.
Disclaimer: I consider myself a skeptic but after this convo I'm not so sure I fit the category. Btw, I do NOT believe the GMO controversy. I only asked this question because as a skeptic (or whatever I'm) it seemed odd.
I once asked a skeptic if they found it strange that most of the higher ups in Monsanto never eat GMO food and only eat organic food. They said, "So what? If someone works at Ford, does that mean they can only drive Ford vehicles?"
Um… Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that the wrong analogy to use? I'm asking about people who feed other people food but won't eat it themselves. They tell people that organic is no different, so why would they abstain from eating it?
If believing whatever I'm told just because the opposition are a bunch of conspiracy theorists makes me a skeptic, I'm not sure I want to be one. I'll continue to be skeptical about all manner or paranormal claims and general hokum but I'll go under a different term like "Logicist" or something.
I took over the payments on this car about 3 months ago when I first drove it I noticed when at a idle the engine would rev up and back down in any gear it would only do it 1 or twice a week didn't think much of it there was no check engine light about a month later engine light came on car still same just reved sometimes was going to go get it scanned but the next day light was off so though ok not going to worry its running fine drove for 2 weeks or so light would come on and off sometime s fast forward to 3 days ago… I go to work in car come out work battery dead hmm so thought maybe I left light on or something so got a jump from my boss started it up drove home 35 miles figured alternator would charge it up get home kill it and recrank starts fine kill it come back out 30 min battery dead so figured bad cell put new battery in everything good battery not dying so go to work next day and on the way its starts to die everytime I come to stop crank it back give a little gas ease into drive then it runs smooth while driving get to work 8 hrs get out car runs perfect never dies engine light off s today go to work its dying sat every stop engine light comes on go home still dying get close to home YELlow wrench light comes on car start jerking when leaving from a stop… Clears up runs ok kill car wrench light goes away drive comes back after awhile… Any thoughts on what's happening and what the yellow wrench light means thanks… Not Fuel filter/pump
I realized the other day it had less than a quart of transmission fluid and it was really light colored almost as if it was watered down and i'm wondering would that causze it to not move it will go into gear just won't move
I'm wanting to buy a classic truck/car for my first vehicle and I have a lot of experience working with classic cars and also know a lot of people that could help me with restoring them/maintaining them! I'm really stuck on what to choose that is going to stand out but also keep within my budget! I have roughly £5000 to spend and I have developed a passion for 1950's chevy 3100 pickups but I don't know if getting one is going to be "cost effective" I also love Classic ford F100s, I like them in a rough sort of style, either stripped back to bare metal or matte black paint! I love the workers look so it doesn't have to be immaculate just has to look good but I have the same problem finding one that's cheap but is also not going to cost me a whole lot of trouble! So I'm open to suggestions on other types of cars that you think I might like but will also stay within my budget! I live in the uk so that is something to bare in mind as well!
