I'm wanting to polish an old Ford Motor?

I'm making a table out of the block, and want to polish it as much as possible, also I'm making a stool out of the crank and have another crank, I want to polish both of the cranks as well. And I'm making a lamp out of that, not sure if I want to polish the cam, and I want to polish the pistons to him the glass over the block. I have never polish anything myself before, to have some one do it I was quoted over 800.00 and I'm not looking to spend that. I don't mind buying the tools n supplies to do it myself because tools always come in handy. I KNOW I would use these tools in the future so I rather out the 800 towards a starter set of polishing supplies. What will I need?

Are we better off than 50 years ago?

I remember 50 years ago my hourly pay was $1.85. A gallon of gasoline was about 50 cents.A loaf of bread and a quart of milk about 25 cents each.Coffee at a restaurant was 10 cents. Where I live the minimum wage is $10 per hour now. If I calculate my monthly pension over 160 hours per month then it works out to be about $7.50 per hour or the minimum wage of more than 20 years ago.Right now a loaf of bread costs more or less $2 and a liter of milk about the same and coffee at a restaurant is about $1.50. What did the unions and their strikes really accomplish? Our Ford factory closed down 3 years ago.Canada Post is nearly finished.

Information on following scholarships?

My grandparents want me to look up information for scholarships for the following companies: Ebony Magazine, Ford, Sony, and BP. So far I haven't had any luck with information, could someone help me out (and also provide some links?) Thanks.

Help on choosing a classic car?

I'm looking to get a classic car as my first car! I know quite a bit about classic cars and I love them all! I also know people who are specialists so they could help me also… I'm just unsure on what car I want! I want something that isn't too expensive ( £4000 - £5000 max including Dixon it up and the cost of the vehicle ) I want something that stands out from the crowd and that is just really cool! I really like old trucks ( ford F100 and chevy 3100 ) the vehicles don't have to be in perfect condition I like the "rough" look but can only find decent ones in America! I live in the uk and am prepared to travel within the country if I find a good project! I could do most of the work myself or get someone I know and we could do the whole car without help so that is not a problem… I just need ideas on what kind of cars that look good, are different, sound good and are practical! It doesn't have to be fast but I would want it to cruise at 60ish mph.

Can I Walk Away from a Car Deal?

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: New York

Hi, i recently purchased a used car from a dealer and got approved for financing. I did not put any money down. I arranged for my current car to be traded in. I signed the financing papers and was told that the car had to go through they're 120 point inspection process. Long story short its been a month and i still do not have the car. First it was that they had to get a warranty for the engine because the ford dealer did not want to cover a land rover engine and now he is telling me that the car has a check airbag light that won't go off. What makes me nervous is that the ford dealer could not fix the problem. They had to send it to a land rover dealer and thats where we're at now.

I wanted to know if it was possible to just walk away from the deal. To conclude i signed financing papers, car trade in papers (still have my title and car) and never took possession of the car. Your advice and input will gladly be appreciated. I also would like to know what would you do if you were in this situation.

Why is my '98 Ford windstar is running rough after a tune up?

I changed out the plugs and wires and it ran good for a day or two but has a lot of hesitation at lower rpms but if I speed up it goes away. Also have a gas smell in my air conditioning when I'm stopped but not while driving. Can anyone help? I'm tired of putting money in this thing.
