Converting a 1950s ford or Chevrolet pickup to clean diesel electric?

Okay this here is a dream of mine, that I thinking I might take a plunge for soon but I have to know it's feasible as I know these trucks are solid and very heavy and I do not know enough about motors especially the bio-diesel/electric motor conversion I'm looking to do. Thing is, I love cars from the 1950s especially the pick ups but I don't like not being able to go far on limited MPG and I'm starting to get more Eco aware. How do I go about doing this? I tried looking for some resources but most of them seem like dead ends. I need to learn what tools, parts, and people I can go to for answers but have no idea how to get started other than buying the truck first. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Connecting trailer brakes to 2005 Lincoln Navigator with tow package?

I'm planning a camping trip, only about a 25 mile drive with a 26' camper, hauling it with my Navigator. The weight of the camper, loaded, is below my tow capacity, so no worries there. My tow package came with a 7 pin connector separate from a 4 pin connector. The camper does have brakes on it and uses the 7 pin connector.

What I'm trying to figure out is if, since it came with the heavy duty tow package, if I will need to wire in a brake controller, or if it is all included from the factory. Upon speaking with a ford dealer, this vehicle came with every option available, the tow package is not aftermarket, nor are any of the connectors. The concern I have is there's one downhill slope headed toward the campsite, though in the past I have just downshifted going downhill. The rest of the trip though is flat, nothing much in hills. Anybody have experience with this?

2006 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Transmission problem?

118, XXX miles

I'm in the process of selling my p71. I was driving it (in light rain) and the rpm gauge was acting up. I pulled off the highway to a side road and as I accelerate into the turn normally, the rpm needle shoots to about 3-4,000 Rpms and it will continue to climb and it doesn't change gears when it needs to. Once it hits maybe 5-6,000, the car bucks and the rpm's go back down to normal and it sounds like it changes gears. It sounds like it isn't going from 1st to 2nd gear. (I never dealt with slipping trans before so I'm not familiar.) it's happening all the time now. I checked the trans fluid 2 times and the fluid looks newish and there aren't any shavings. I don't hear gears grind. When it rpm's up to 3-4,000 like I said the car bucks and the needle goes down to its normal 2-3.000 and it's sounding like the gear sounds correct for that speed and what not. So it corrects itself to equal the rpm's is what it sounds like after the bucking motion. Like I said I never dealt with it before and I'm going to take it to a mechanic but I wanna know what we're dealing with first.attached is a video, I'm not revving it on purpose, it's doing that on its own with the slightest touch of the pedal.
