Help with a car decision?

I currently own a 2009 VW Jetta with a 2.5L 5 cylinder engine. It currently has 140,000 miles and it's pure highway miles.
I recently had a problem with it with an intake air system leak and had to replace the ignition coils, the spark plugs because it came up with those codes. But the issue wasn't related with the ignition coils or spark plugs at all! It was the PCV valve diaphragm and another gasket inside the valve cover. Point being I'm afraid of having to deal with any bigger issues on a German car. Luckily a family friend who is a mechanic fixed it for 95 bucks. The car runs as good as new even when the ignition coils or spark plugs weren't needing to be replaced but now they are new too. I wanted to get an opinion on wether or not it's best to sell it (in very good condition, engine is clean and has been well maintained with its oil) and buy another car where the parts won't be as expensive as a German vehicle. I was thinking in the lines of a Honda Toyota or Nissan, but what about a ford or Chevy sedan? I'm into sedans currently because I always have family with me and I use it as a daily driver. What advice would you guys and gals be able to share with me about my current situation? Should I wait and save up money and then sell the car? Or keep the car meantime since it's running great again.

Help identifying old looking ford?

Saw it today, 4 door boxy looking, long and not that tall. Ford written across the back. I'm just curious what it is because the side windows didn't have a frame/separater in the middle of them like most cars. Both the side windows were down and there was just a huge opening like it was one big window. And if the windows were rolled up they would touch eachother.

Car gas pedal problem?

Hi. I seem to be having with my Ford Mondeo MK3 petrol car (2005) gas pedal. My mechanic told me it was normal, but I have my doubts. Allow me to explain:

The gas pedal seems to sit lower than it should, and I can lift the pedal up by about 1 to 2 inches with no resistance and let it fall down again. The car seems to accelerate ok if I remind myself to push my foot down further than I naturally would but its quite an awkward thing to put up with. If I forget to push down more then I take off really slowly (with judders as would be expected when not enough gas is being applied). I checked all the gas pedals of my family members cars and none of them are like this. Is this normal or can I do something about it?

Just to add, the pedal only wiggles upwards, and not side to side.

Rephrasing a previous question?

I'll rephrase a question I asked before.

Why should I wait 25 years, to have some craftsman in his garage, to finish building a car that is no better than an ordinary economy car, that takes extreme skill to make, and therefore because he made it, it probably is not as good as some other, commercially available car…

It has no blue book value, because it isn't a known vehicle.
It has not been tested.
And he wants about 100 times more for it, than the local ford dealer charges?

And why should I spend $2500 per month rent for a house that I really have no economic business living in, because if I did, I'd own it in the first place…

Be stuck signing away my rights to live my life, because his rules are crazy…

Run the risk of him charging me even more because I have cable TV service, that he don't think I need…
Which is not any of his business.

And then running the risk of being put out when the lease is up, because he found a richer tenant…

When I could go to a businessman, who is in the real estate business.
and rent an apartment that I belong in, and have more freedom, and less bogus?
