Help choose a car for college?

So, I'm leaving for college soon, and I might want to buy a car of my own. Right now I drive a standard Celica GTS, but it's not really mine (my dad will probs give it to my brother later.) I really know my cars and am somewhat mechanically inclined. I want a car that stands out among the rest, isn't "girly", and has decent reliability and pretty good performance. Preferably a sports coupe. There are many cars that I have considered, and I would just like to begin a discussion about some of these makes and models, to help me decide which ones I want to buy. The price range I'm looking at is around 7000 but that is elastic. Also they have to be standard because automatic is for wimps. I do live in New England so I'm also going to need suggestions on how to drive a sporty/muscle car in the snow (I know, sounds dangerous but I don't really want a truck) like winter tires or weights in the back? Feel free to start a discussion here ppl =D

Cars I'm considering:

circa 2000 Camaro (pref V8)

Older Trans AM/ Firebird ( this spawns a serious question about the reliability of older pontiacs, but I seem to be able to find older ones in good condition on craigslist easily OPEN FOR DISCUSSION)

Ford Mustang (any year) would like to talk to some owners

C4 Corvette (1989+) how is their reliability?

Cadillac CTS V6? (reliability/ fun to drive?)

Lexus Sc300/IS300 (how fun is it to drive? Good in winter or bad?)

Infiniti G35x (Discuss the quality of the AWD, reliability, etc)

2006 Ford Mustang with ABS light and TCS light. What do I do?

I recently got an 06 Mustang with an ABS light and TCS light on. I had it checked out just by a quick view. The guy does not believe my hub assembly or bearings are bad. I replaced the ABs sensor and it still did not seem to help. When I had it scanned the computer said it is the passenger rear ABS. I have no grinding, no noises, no issues driving, but I want to fix it properly. Does anyone have any ideas on what steps to take now?

Fluid leaking from a hole in engine?

I have in 04 ford mustang and there's a hole in the back left side of the engine lower to the transmission dip stick and it leaks a few drops after I turn off the car and it hits a pipe and makes a sizzling noise need some help guys is this bad?

Possible upgrade route/upgrades for 2005 Ford Mustang V6?

Yes, I know it's a V6 (automatic), but I'm just 15 and the insurance is still HIGH. Anyway, I got my 'Stang about a month ago, it's the best color (screaming yellow), and I wanted to get some upgrades. It feels amazing now and with the 400w amp and 12' subwoofer, but it needs something. I want to start with a Flowmaster American Thunder axle-back exhaust to create a bit more sound, then get a BBK chrome CAI with a BBK throttle body and an SR proformance throttle body spacer. After that, I want to get a tuner, a BAMA Diablosport InTune. After that, I'm going to get some visual upgrades, like lights, side louvers, funtional hood vents, some painted interior dress up and painted mirror covers. I think I might get a shelby gt500 fascia conversion kit and the shelby gt500 hood but, it's a bit pricey. This is just the plan, as of now for my Mustang. Any other preformance upgrades that I can get? Should I go with a supercharger or a single turbo? I want to have my car done by the time I get out of high school.

Where can I buy Modified Mustangs and Fords Magazine?

I'm trying to put together a deployment box for my boyfriend and he loves Shelby's and Mustangs but I can't find that particular magazine anywhere. Where can I find one to buy him? I saw them once at my local Fry's but they are in between magazine suppliers and don't have any as of now.

2006 Ford Mustang i both ABS light on?

I recently got an 06 Mustang that has the ABS and TCS light on already. I had a guy check it out and he's positive the hub assembly and bearings are still good. I replaced the sensor and I drove around the block and the light is still on. I even tried to disconnect the negative terminal and that was a waste of time. What is my next step? The car is not breaking funny or doing anything out of the norm. Please someone help me!

2012 mustang v6 premium vs dodge challenger sxt?

What's up everyone, I'm currently driving a 2006 bmw 325i and I'm not happy at all, the maintenance cost of this car is ridiculous. Very unreliable for me. I'm looking to switch to an American car, and I'm split between 2012 mustang v6 premium vs 2012 dodge challenger sxt. I'm interested in the V6 only because I'm a college student and I can't afford the gas prices that the V8 will cost me at this time. I absolutely love the look of the challenger but I love the performance of the mustang, this is why I'm split between the two.

I'm looking for the best commuter car, comfort, reliability, cheap to maintain, and power. The 215hp bmw just wasn't enough for me I want something faster but still affordable. Which car is better the dodge or the ford? Thank you guys

Also one thing that's bothering me about the
-mustang is I feel limited as far as the top speed, around 115? With the risk of the driveshaft exploding? Doesn't sit right in my stomach even though I shouldn't be going that fast anyways.
-challenger one thing that bothers me is I feel like it's too big, kind of like driving a boat? I want something relatively small like the 3 series, where I could switch lanes easily and not have to maneuver 20 times when backing out tight areas
