You can either contact a locksmith, which will be the least expensive, or take your title to a dealer where they can make a duplicate key
Take proof of ownership and your debt card to a ford dealer. With the VIN they can make you a new one. Buy two while there, so you have back up.
If you have the key code your dealer or a locksmith can cut you a key but this car has PATS ( passive antitheft system) and the car has to be programmed to recognize the new chipped key. Your local dealer or a well equipped shop can do this for you, some mobile locksmiths also have the tools to do this but not all so if using a locksmith ask if they can do the programming as well. If you do not have the key code this gets tougher and you may well need to have the lock cylinders replaced and then have the new keys programmed into the car. Cost will vary greatly depending on what you have to work with…200 to 800 dollars is not out of the question.
- Lost my only key to my car. It's an 02 ford taurus station wagon and has a chip in the key? Ordered and blank key. Going to get it cut then have it programmed. I have an extra key that will unlock my doors but won't start the car because it doesn't have a chip and isn't programmed for my car. Can I use my key that unlocks the door to get it cut and then use my vin to have them program it?
- I have a 1999 ford ranger and i have coolant in one of my vacuum lines? Its the red line that runs to the egr vacuum mod on the passenger side of the motor. The part that the egr line goes to as well. I'm not sure why I have coolant running through a vacuum line. This causes coolant to run to the egr valve so I need to fix it
- Am i the only one that thinks a 2003 4.0 ford ranger can beat a 1999 5.2 dodge dakota? I mean the ranger weighs alot less and has a 5 speed transmission when i think the dakotas have 4 speed so thats another advantage for ranger… Any one have experience and has actually raced these please fill me in with answers
- I have a Ford F150. I'm thinking about going to walmart and get a key copy, and it has a chip. Will the key they provide me start the car? It's a 2007 model by the way. It has a chip on the key, and I was wondering if the cloned car key they give me be able to start the car up.
