I have a Ford F150. I'm thinking about going to walmart and get a key copy, and it has a chip. Will the key they provide me start the car?

It's a 2007 model by the way. It has a chip on the key, and I was wondering if the cloned car key they give me be able to start the car up.

The non chipped key will unlock or lock your vehicle, but it won't start it. Even if it did start it, it would turn right back off you won't be able to drive the vehicle with it.

Only a dealership garage will be able to do that.

No. You will need to call a car locksmith to reprogram the PCM.

See my answer for the one you asked about Lowes

Chip keys are a dealer thing, a cut key will only open doors. The new chip key needs programmed at the dealer.

IF they stock chipped keys for your vehicle, the vehicle will have to be programmed to accept the new chip. Walmart doesn't offer that service.
Some hardware stores can 'clone' the chip in your current key.

No.

No.

Get the key from Ford.

They do make some keys for weird ignition systems, they just cost a lot more, like $50+. Check Home Depot or Lowe's or Menard's.
