Is a diesel Ford Excursion worth it?
I want a 2003 Ford Excursion Limited 4X4 as my first car. I like them because they're rare. I love the vast amount of cargo space when the seats are folded down. What's the city mpg (big city/small town)? I don't think I'll be towing. I can drive almost anything, so size won't bother me. Is it worth it? I would be driving it for the last 2 years of high school and for 4 years of college. I would stay on campus, so I wouldn't drive very much. Is it worth it? How much would it cost to fill? What's the gasoline fuel economy in the city?
You're looking at very dismal gas mileage and it could be very difficult to park on a college campus, where parking is tight and hard to find. There are no posted EPA mileage estimates because it wasn't required for this model in 2003.
- Tow capacity on a 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0 diesel? I have a 6.0 diesel excursion and would like to know the tow capacity. It has a new torque converter, a new turbo, egr delete, a 4 inch exhaust, a 6 inch all suspension lift, and 38x16.5 tires.
- Is a ford excursion worth it? I'm looking to buy a 2000 to 2005 Ford excursion diesel. Is it worth it getting it? What's the MPG I can expect from it?
- 1994 Ford F-250 7.3l Diesel with 316k miles worth the buy? I've been looking at a 1994 Ford F-250 XLT 4x4 with the famous 7.3l diesel (unsure if it is the IDI N/A or Turbo or the 7.3 Powerstroke, owner does not say in the add) The main problem that I see with it is that it has 316000 miles. Would that be worth it? The owner is selling pretty damn cheap at $1900. He says it runs good but would there be anyway to tell how much life it has left from the initial check before buying? How much would it cost to rebuild one of these motors?
- Does the Ford Excursion diesel really get 18 mpg? I'm thinking about getting a Ford Excursion Powerstroke diesel. I read somewhere that they can get up to 18 mpg city. Is this really true? I forgot about fuel economy factors such as driving habits and weather. Can it really get mid-upper teens in the city? I forgot 4WD.
