1994 Ford F-250 7.3l Diesel with 316k miles worth the buy?

I've been looking at a 1994 Ford F-250 XLT 4x4 with the famous 7.3l diesel (unsure if it is the IDI N/A or Turbo or the 7.3 Powerstroke, owner does not say in the add) The main problem that I see with it is that it has 316000 miles. Would that be worth it? The owner is selling pretty damn cheap at $1900. He says it runs good but would there be anyway to tell how much life it has left from the initial check before buying? How much would it cost to rebuild one of these motors?

The 7.3 was one of Ford's best p/u diesel engines - The 300,000 miles is not a major factor. They are still dropping that engine into smaller 4x4 today. The price is decent if the truck body is straight & the interior is clean. I have a '92 4x4 Bronco with a factory gasoline engine & am reading about replacing it with a 7.3 for desert four wheeling…

  • Is it worth it to buy a ford ranger with 387,000 miles? My neighbor is selling his 1999 ford ranger 5 speed manual for 5300$. I think it's a decent truck for its Age besides a few dents and scrapes it runs and looks fine, and it has high mileage but it has a good engine and transmiton from what he tells me. However is it worth what he wants for it
  • Would you buy a 1996 Ford F250 7.3L Diesel V8 with 300,000 miles on it? Owner has replaced tires, new ball joints and tie rods, new fuel hoses, new ac, new water pump, and a whole bunch more. The same owner has another one with 600k still running strong. It has one owner who was a corporate owner and has been religious with maintenance. He wants 5k. What do you guys think?
  • How many miles is too many miles for a 2010 Ford F-250 with a 6.4? I have one I'm looking at with 175, XXX for about 22k. Looks like it's in good shape but I'm pretty new to diesels
  • How long can I expect a 2007 Ford F-250 superduty with a 6.0 diesel to last? I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 Ford F-250 super duty with the 6.0 diesel in it. Current mileage is 154,000 and from what I can find on it has been serviced fairly well and was a texas truck. I only intend to use it to haul a 30' travel trailer a few times a year and maybe some local driving around town from time to time, but not really daily use. But my question is how reliable are they?
