Clutch going bad in a Ford Focus?

I have the dual clutch automatic 2014 Focus and it has almost 18 thousand miles. I know it's normal for the transmission to act funky as basically it's a computer controlled manual transmission. Well in the last 3 months I've put on about 5 thousand miles as I've been driving a lot for my job. I think the transmission is actually slipping and going out or something. When accelerating the car makes a noticeable slip in gear 2 and 3. Take off is a nightmare as the whole thing just lurches and vibrates really rough and badly. Once the car is up to speed it's fine. It used to do this in heavy traffic but I mostly drive on the highway and it still does this. I'm actually afraid it's going to dump me on the highway. I would take it to Ford but I'm afraid they will blow me off as I hear this is a common complaint.

Take it in before it blows up. It should still be under warranty.

My neighbor bought a used Focus and had that issue. The dealer replaced the clutch at no cost.

Take it back and get the problem recorded in their system, while it IS still in warranty.

Actually if it's a common fault, they are MORE likely to fix it.

The service manager is going to say "That's unusual, never seen one do that before". Then when you are gone he's going to go over to the parts guy and say "Better order in ANOTHER clutch kit for a warranty repair"

Manual transmissions are not computer controlled. You have an automatic with the manual shift paddles or the + and - position for the shift lever? Go to a Ford dealer and have them scan for transmission codes. If it's slipping be prepared to need a different transmission.

It should still be under warranty. Also the Focus has had a few recalls related to the transmission. Take it to the dealer.
