Hi well it will have two one to suck fuel from the tank and a high pressure one to supply a pressure of some 3 thousand pounds of pressure to the injectors. Highly dangerous and should not be touched by anyone but a qualified engineer.

Most newer vehicles have the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. You have two choices to get at the fuel pump on your F-150. You can enlist several of your buddies and remove the bed or if you have an engine hoist you can use a bed lifting device. The other way is to drop the fuel tank and use brass punches to knock the locking ring loose as the bad fuel pump can be removed from the fuel tank and a new pump installed.
