I have 1977 ford f150 with a 351 engine in it. I replaced the fuel pump and two filters. It dies often?
I have replaced the fuel filter before the fuel pump and the fuel pump aswell as the fuel filter at the engine. Also a new tank. It likes to die. What may be my problem?
If it has a carburetor and it dies when you give it gas then it could be the accelerator pump in the carburetor! After you replaced all that stuff did you bleed the fuel lines of air?
After all that, I'd do a fuel pressure test to rule out a fuel delivery problem. Does it die at idle?

- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- Do 164 tooth flex plates interchange between 1977 351 Windsor and 400 Ford engines? I know the bolt patterns are the same and balance weghts changed on the 302 in 1981 to 50 oz from the 28.2 and that both Windsor and Clevelands used the 28.2 oz. What I want to know is are the dimensions the same from the flange surface of the crankshaft mount to the bolt mount for the torque converter and is the balance weight located in the same place on the flex plate relative to the bolt pattern.
- Ford f150 2007- making a whining noise, I have replaced power steering pump? I was told by a shade tree mechanic that there was air in the lines, bc while it's running the fluid level in canister is moving around a good bit. What's the line i need to break to drain fluid out completely
- 1977 Ford F-150 truck, distributor stuck to 351 engine. How to remove without breaking off? One mechanic thought it was merely stubborn, tried hammer plus large flathead screwdriver; no luck. His assistant said it may be galvanically corroded to the engine. Have you had a similar occurrence that you resolved? Any ideas will be appreciated.
