Clunk noise in Ford F-150?

I have a 2001 Ford F-150 xlt 2wd with a 4.2l engine and a manual transmission, 150, XXX miles on it. Recently like a 2 months ago it started making a clunk/knock noise when ever I accelerate from stop to go. It just got worse over time and now it sounds fairly louder. I did the slip yolk greasing but that didn't help, maybe I applied too little grease? Anyways any idea on what it could be?

Why Does Replacing Idle Air Control Valve on 2002 Ford F150 not correct Idle issue?

Got A check engine light. Code said Idle Air Contol Valve. Purchased A control valve at parts store. Replaced control valve with new one. Engine Idled up real high. Attempted driving, thought computer had to reset. Engine still idled up too high. Parts store said vehicle had to be driven for at least 20 miles for control valve to operate correctly. Drove truck 30 miles, engine started to surge. Put old control valve back in and engine does not idle high or surge but stalls out.( suggestions) ?

Hubby is throwing $5K down the toilet. Am I wrong for being POed?

So hubby made a deal with friends to buy their truck from them, since they are moving away. They agreed on a purchase price of $10K for a 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat. He made this deal without even consulting me first.

While it would be nice to have an additional vehicle we can transport our kids in (they're still in car seats), we didn't have the money, nor could we afford such a large purchase right now. Again without consulting me, hubby borrowed $5K from our babysitter.

He hasn't been able to sell his current pickup, and his friends keep postponing their departure date. Needless to say, there's no certainty of when we will actually take possession of the vehicle. No written contract was drawn up, and now they have the $5K (that wasn't even our money) and still have the vehicle.

I've asked hubby to find out what's going on, but he doesn't seem the least bit concerned. IMO, he not only put us further in debt, but now we're left owing a large sum to the person who cares for our children (so essentially that's $5K down the toilet).

Added (1). If I even had $1M, I would still be upset. $5K is 5K! But I'm more upset that he has put blind trust in his friends. As long as I've known them, they've stood by their word. But as I said, 5K is 5K. And ultimately, the ones who will be suffering from losing so much would be the kids.

Will cutting off the muffler cut gas milage?

I have an '83 Ford F150, i want to make it ear shatteringly loud, but not wanna mess with the mileage I have. It didn't come with a catalytic converter, and i was planning on cutting off right before the muffler and leaving it. Where i would cut it is about halfway down the truck where cab and box meet. Anyone foresee any problems?

Repair manual advice for new 2012 Ford F-150 XL?

I just purchased a new but used 2012 Ford F-150 XL with Flex Fuel. It is as basic as it gets which I'm happy about because I really would like to learn more about trucks, engines, etc.

Rather than take a class at a local JC (which I believe would be best) I'd rather just get an indepth book about my specific truck, how it works, how to tell what's wrong with it, pictures, etc so I can truly KNOW my truck if anything were to happen. I.e. If the truck breaks down on the side of the road, I'd know what to do.

What do you recommend?

How many miles will a 2002 Ford F150 typically last?

I'm looking at trucks priced $6000 max. I found an 02 with the 5.4 triton V8. It's a Lariat Supercrew. They wan't just about $6000. The only thing i"m worried about is the mileage. It has 190k. But it looks to be in good shape and it only has one previous owner who kept the original window sticker and books. It's either this truck or a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab with the 5.9 that has 140k miles. But it has had 2 owners and been in an accident.

Added (1). Yeah its 4x4. The interior is really clean. The body is in pretty good shape. Here's a link to the ad
