Why does my 1997 ford f-150 4.2L keep blowing fuses every time i turn the key to start it?
So i was given a truck that was flooded over the roof last time we had a bad rain. I managed to make it run and all the electrical works. It would start right up every time we turned the key.One day we hooked up our battery charger and put it on 100 cranking amps to start it, and then the battery charger started smoking and went goodbye. We put a new battery in it and turned the key to start it and nothing.Checked the fuses under the hood and under the dash and had a few that were blown.Put fresh fuses in, turned the key, blown again. The blinkers don't work nor the ignition. We can still start it from under the hood. Any ideas on what the problem is? Every time we try to turn it over with the key nothing happens and we blow fuses.
Added (1). forgot to mention we used the 100 cranking amp setting on the battery charger countless times before this happened.
