If my A/c clutch is going out does that mean my whole compressor needs to be replaced?
I have a 97 ford expedition my air comes out cool and then all of a sudden will come out hot. If the truck sits for awhile it will come out cold again for a little while, so its back and forth and a weird noise is coming from the compressor also. Can it be the compressor is going bad?
Yep, a new one costs about $600
Yes. If the clutch and/or barrings are failing in your A/C compressor the compressor itself will have to be replaced.

- Help truck isn't going into gear and when I let the clutch out it does? I have a 2001 standard Ford ranger. I barely had a new clutch put in last year. But anyway I was going down highway in 5th gear and as I was going to put it in neutral it made a loud popping noise and then died. So I went to the side of the road and tried starting it, nothing. It starts up fine but the minute I let off the clutch it dies and when I try to shift it into 1 3 or 5 it feels like some thing is blocking it it'll act like it goes into 2 an 3 but it doesn't engage.

- My transmission has failed due to a recalled part does Ford have to replace the whole transmission or just the recalled part? I have a 2005 Ford Freestar minivan one night when I was driving home the transmission went out on it while I was on the highway. After doing some research we found that the torque converter is a recalled part on this model. If the torque converter is the reason for the transmission failure does Ford have to replace my whole transmission as well or just the torque converter?
