My transmission has failed due to a recalled part does Ford have to replace the whole transmission or just the recalled part?

I have a 2005 Ford Freestar minivan one night when I was driving home the transmission went out on it while I was on the highway. After doing some research we found that the torque converter is a recalled part on this model. If the torque converter is the reason for the transmission failure does Ford have to replace my whole transmission as well or just the torque converter?

Go on Ford's website, punch in your VIN, see if your vehicle is covered. If you are covered there should be a letter telling you what the symptoms are and what corrective action will be taken.

The part and the consequences.

Just the torque converter, just like when your gas is low you buy more gas instead of a new gas tank.
