My 1995 Ford Escort lx is hemoraging oil from the engine its a 1.9l 4cyl what engine can I swap into it?
Leaking from the main seal, not enough money to fix it. Thinking of throwing in a used one from a car at the wreck yard, just want to know which engines will fit/be compatible.
If you can pull the motor to switch it, you can pull the motor to replace the rear main. The seal is a lot cheaper than a used engine
You can buy the seal kit for under $20 and the labor is the same

- Car leaking oil, not sure if its from oil filter or transmission? So I have a 1998 Ford windstar that broke down because the transmission just basically gave up on it. Anyway, before it broke down we gave it an oil change and it wasn't leaking any oil. After the transmission gave up, a couple months afterwards, it starts to leak oil. Could this be from the transmission or the oil filter? By the way, I know absolutely nothing about cars.
