Is this a good car to get?

It's a 2017 Ford Escape S. I currently drive a 2005 Chevy Aveo so anything must be better than that lol. I like the price and features Ford offers on it's base model CUV and I drove one the ride feels like a couch on my back. I don't need a whole lot of features I just want comfort, room, and reliability.

Are steel or alloy rims better?

I just bought a base model Ford Escape. I don't need a whole lot so this car fit my and my family's needs fine. It has some pretty ugly steel wheels and plastic covers though and driving wise I can't really tell a difference but I'm trying to decide if I should buy rims instead?

2012 Honda Civic handling is bad?

I'm not sure if something is wrong or if it's normal for this car. I primarily drive a 2014 Ford Escape and I know it's a suv but is fairly easy to drive. My mom has a Civic and sometimes we switch cars just because and whenever I drive her car I feel like the car never wants to drive straight and always blows around on the highway. It's the LX model with around 59 thousand miles. Maybe I'm not used to it because I don't drive it often but is that normal for this car? It's fine on the side streets and my mom never drives the highway anyway so it doesent bother her.
