2003 ford escape keeps jerking to the right/left?
My front tires had been old and they were bigger than the rear ones. I never had any trouble driving until I got an alignment over at sears after getting my tires and i'll also add that I had no problem driving the car with my new tires before the alignment. Aft so, I've been experiencing lot of jerking to the right and somewhat left. Before the new tires I also did hit a pothole but the car was fine and I didn't think anything of it but the sears people said their was a dent under the front near the right that might be the problem but my regular mechanic said it was either the bearing or ball joint was loose which he tightened but once again I experienced jerking yet again. I don't know what it could be exactly… Help!
Take it to a mechanic to have the front end checked by someone who knows what to look for. Something is obviously not right but needs to be inspected physically.
Does it happen when you're breaking, accelerating, driving a constant speed, or when steering? I've also heard that using different sized tires on the front and back can damage 4wd and awd, that might be related to the problem.
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- 07 Ford Taurus jerking when accelerating after stops? The car was jerking after being warmed up, and then I would be at a stop light. After accelerating, the car would drive normal, I'd watch the RPM's increase to almost 3 and then a hard jerk and then it kept going. Added Lucas Trans Fix and the jerking stopped but not the RPM's go past 3 and it shifts but sometimes makes a grinding noise. The Check Transmission light comes on after idling for a bit. Any idea what could be wrong?
- I replaced the distributor and it is firing on the right, but not on the left any sugg? I had to replace the distributor on my ford truck. Because it was shearing off. Now the truck won't start. We're getting fire on the drivers side, but not the passenger side. Any suggestions as to what we're doing wrong
- Owner of 2003 ford focus, car keeps needing a jump. Last time I did when the cables came off the car shut off? The car lasted a couple of days the last time I jumped it. I believe It's just my battery but how would I know it has anything to do with my accelerator as well?
